Photos are 2500 X 2500. Serial number 320520 dates the horn to 1947. Old lacquer refinish has scratches but overall is in good condition. The refinish was well done. Careful buffing left the tone holes undamaged and the engraving crisp and sharp (for a refin). Pads are soft, not discolored or deteriorated, but are old. I don’t play sax so I can’t comment further the pad’s condition. Best to assume the pads need replacing. The body has some very small, shallow dings, nothing large or deep. The neck is a little worse. It has small dents as well, the octave key posts are slightly pushed in, and the angle has been bent lower, either on purpose or from damage. Are engraved in small font below the serial number. The case smells pretty bad, otherwise in excellent condition. It appears to be old but not old enough to be original. Includes sax and case. Standard, artist model, Naked Lady, lady face, lady on the bell, etc. The Conn 10M has always been regarded as one of the best saxophones ever made. The golden-honey finish is in good condition, plus normal wear. As you can see the prominent Naked Lady engraving is quite visible and a beauty. Minor scratches/dents/dings that are common for this vintage (see photos). Original Conn key pearls and the rollers appear to also be pearl. Nice, better than most condition (for its over 75 years of age), and the incomparably-distinct Conn pinky table keys are in perfect alignment – unlike a lot of other 10Ms. Rolled tone holes – a unique feature and they are much easier on the key pads. The new pads are upgraded with seamless domed metal resonators (for better projection). It plays very well, in tune, with that awesome resonant Conn sound! Dexter Gordon played a Conn 10M… First come, first served… Don’t miss this beautiful, player’s horn Conn 10M Naked Lady. Vintage saxophones this rare and special don’t come along every day, make an offer.. Perfect time to play a killer sax! As with any vintage instrument adjustments are to be expected. Includes a case in fair condition and it will be packed well. Check out my other items. Be sure to add me to your favorites list. His listing is for a vintage Conn 6M’Naked Lady’ alto saxophone. The serial number is 315, xxx, and it is stamped “L” for low pitch. Is a 1st generation 6M, made in 1946. This was Conn’s glory days. It was an era in which most all of the dance bands saxophone sections played Conns all across the front line. This horn features rolled tone holes, a G# trill key, and a micro-tuner neck with a. N underslung octave key. This sax is in very good physical condition. The body is perfectly straight. There are a few very minor pings/nicks, but no significant dents or dings. The key-guards are all straight. I don’t see any re-soldered joints The neck has not been pulled down. It’s double tenons are round and true, and the micro-tuner is turning. The keywork is all moving freely, and all of the locking screws are present. The lacquer is original, but well worn/spotted, as you can see. I would say it is about 75% intact. As far as playability, it does play top to bottom, but it isn’t in optimum playing condition. The pads are old, and there are adjustment issues. A leak light inspection reveals leaks on many of the pads. Some of the leaks disappear as finger pressure is increased from light to medium or heavy, but not all do. As I said, it does play as is, so you can at least get a sense of its potential. To that end, I made a short demo video, linked below. See the product in action. This sax comes in a nice modern Protec brand case/gig bag. It is soft sided, but has a lot more padding than a typical gig bag. The exterior is canvas. There is one huge pocket on the exterior that can fit lots of accessories (probably even some sax stands, depending on how compact they fold down), and a smaller pocket that is good for an additional mouthpiece. There is also a special bag for stowing a mouthpiece and the neck in the sax bell. I don’t have the shoulder strap for the case, but any generic one will do. The case is clean and odor free inside. With a proper overhaul, this will be a fantastic player that will beat the socks off of any modern horn of comparable price. There are reasons why people still seek these old Conns out, even after 70+ years. They were made to last, and possess a tonal richness that you just don’t find in modern horns. Please feel free to message me with any questions! Thanks again for looking! The item “VINTAGE c. 1946 CONN 6M NAKED LADY ALTO SAXOPHONE 1ST GEN. For sale here is a Beautiful example of genuine American built C. Conn Classic Tenor Saxophone in Heavy Gold Plate. The sax has been recently serviced including a full re-pad with Selmer-style plastic resonators. They help bring out the Warm and Fuzzy on this beauty! It has the serial number 139979 with a production date around 1925. The sax has a very nice Gold Plated over Silver finish that was not polished during the last servicing. If someone has the time and the energy, they could certainly make this horn sparkle!! Included in the sale is an old and raggedy alligator skin case, a neck strap, and the Brilhart Tonalin 8 mouthpiece pictured. The mouthpiece is in very lightly used condition. There is a little wear on the bite plate but the facing looks original and the tip, table, and rails are all blemish-free. The tip opening measures 0.094. Obviously the case needs a handle or two and the hinges could probably stand for a replacement but both latches function as intended. I kinda like that the latches don’t crack you in the thumb when they snap open. They have little swing restrictors or something… The horn has a flat spot on the bottom but not big enough for me to worry about. It is also missing one of the tiny little octave key guides that is soldered right at the top of the body where the neck tenon is. Not sure what happened to that little guy… This is an awesome Tenor for anyone. Altos, C Tenors and Bb Tenors. I don’t need them all and I have a little B Buescher alto that screams, a Buescher C Tenor that smokes and a Pan American Tenor that is on Fire!!! Please look at all of the pictures and feel free to ask questions. Make an offer if you want the sax. I’m open to that. Check out my other listings as well. Have a blessed day. Happy New Year to ALL! Vintage 1935 Conn Transitional 6M Naked Lady Alto Saxophone Rolled Tone Holes
Vintage 1935 Conn Transitional 6M Naked Lady Alto Saxophone Rolled Tone Holes. On offer today – A Conn 6M Naked lady transitional alto saxophone with original case. The serial number is 270xxx which dates it to 1935. This is one of the wonderful transitionals out there. The official M Naked Lady models were advertised to the public in 1935, the previous model being the New Wonder Two (known for its distinct G# nail file lever). This horn is one of the rare ones caught on the production line between these two phases and shows the combined trait/s of both models. It has all the 6M attributes (same-sided bell keys, the curved high E palm key, the silver-plated adjustable thumb hook, the removal of the forked Eb resonance key, the improved G# cluster, the underslung microtuner neck, and, most importantly, the Naked Lady engraving) but retains the New Wonder Two the serial number stamp layout. This horn does not have the 6M stamp in the serial number, very unusual given the year it was made. This alto has been well looked after and is in good condition. The lacquer looks lovely with that deep golden tint it has acquired with age. All the original pearl pinky rollers are there without any chips to them. It has all of its original Conn pivot lock-screws (quite a rarity in itself) along with its original hard case. This alto saxophone has a served me well what a powerful player! It has had new pads installed but will need servicing/regulating after transit to be in playing condition so please bear this in mind. The case is good and strong as ever with no splits in the wood and the all latches functioning. Berkeley cases, mouthpieces, and many vintage U. A altos, tenors, and baritones. Will be securely wrapped for posting. The item “Vintage 1935 Conn Transitional 6M Naked Lady Alto Saxophone Rolled Tone Holes” is in sale since Monday, September 23, 2019. 1942 Conn 10M Tenor Sax/Saxophone, Naked Lady, Rolled Toneholes, Plays Great
This is a great-playing example of a vintage Conn 10m tenor saxophone manufactured in 1942, #304XXX during Conn’s greatest years of saxophone production. Naked lady engraved on the bell. His sax is in solid used condition with normal wear and scratching, and it is set up to good playing adjustment on mostly flat metal resonator pads around midlife with necessary replacements. Vintage factory relaquer finish. Neck has several resolders on the octave key post and brace, no effect on its great sound. This sax has strong, full projection and presence with a powerful vintage edge.
