Whalophone – is an excellent quality waterphone produced by Turtle Drums. Classic whalophone has 26 rods now! There are many ways to produce sound from whalophone – you can use your bare hands, knock the spikes with your fingers or with mallets, or finally, use a bow which significantly enhances the spectrum of sounds. To create incredible “wah-wah” effect just pour some water inside the whalophone (80 ml should do the trick) and listen how it talks to you when you play it! Classic whalophone consists of 26 different length rods permanently attached to a stainless steel body with silver joints. High silver content silver joints provide extra durability and a great resonance of the instrument. Rods are made out of brass, alloy known for its great sound properties and transparent timbre. There are no “dead” or “dull” rods as with some other makes! We make sure each waterphone we produce is unique and meets highest sound standards. Saucer of the whalophone is made out of thick stainless steel, with increased chromium content (unlike waterphones of other makes) which does not bend or “dance” when played. To fill whalophone with water just pour some of it into the holding pipe! 1970 BACH STRADIVARIUS TRUMPET MODEL 239 CML. At the time I did not realize that it was a. C trumpet and more for professional use. I took it to one music shop to hopefully sell it to them. Although, they did a lot of “oohing and ahhing”, they said that they sell mostly to kids. Just starting out and wouldn’t have the market. So, I took it to a larger music store. The man there said it was a beautiful trumpet and asked a lot of questions on it’s history and such and. Would get the word out. I’m thinking there aren’t many professional trumpet players in my area. Though I don’t have much history, everyone that I have showed it to, or test played it, loved it. Care that it so deserves. I have to apologize for my photos, it was a very difficult subject. Seemed like I was getting reflection from everywhere. The photos don’t do it justice, as it is a very. Serial Number 53494 , indicates that it was made in early 1970 in Elkhorn, IN. Recently cleaned and conditioned. Excellent condition for it’s age. Slides glide easily, valves have great response. Silver plating is intact and shines beautifully. There are a few light scratches here and there. I noted a couple of very small dings in the bell and on curve, will identify those in the last photos. Very small but must mention. Case is not original to the trumpet, but appears to be in good condition. Latches and hinges work. Inside looks clean, but could use some airing out.
