The serial # dates it to 1967, so it was made in the magical Elkhart factory in Indiana. Original everything, including the finish, so it has the usual nickel wear that these horns get over time, and some around the finger placement. Would recommend not refinishing. It sounds amazing as is. Horn has good compression and extremely quick valves. All slides work and move well. Tested and used for my big band work. An amazing all around horn. Honestly, having a hard time letting go of it. Comes with original case, Conn 4 mouthpiece and Conn lyre of the era. If you’re looking for this horn you probably already know, but the Coprion lead pipe means no red rot ever. Thank you for reading. Here’s more information from the Conn Loyalist. The Connstellation 38B is nickel plated with brass trim and has a large 5 1/8 bell. It has a #1 bore (0.438), and was produced from 1956 to at least 1979. What Conn said in 1966. Here is the large bore feel that top artists prefer. Produces six to 12 decibels more sound for the same player effort. The finest of mechanical superiority. Electro-D bell and mouthpipe.
Silver and Brass Music Shop is a brick-and-mortar brass instrument restoration and repair shop located in Carson City, NV. Here is a Conn 12B “Coprion” trumpet. The bore of the horn is medium at. 438 (Conn #1 bore). The bell is 4 5/8. This is one of the models of horn that Conn built over the years that has a pure 100% copper bell flare. The bell is electroformed into existence on a mandrel, so it is a true one piece seamless bell. This gives these horns remarkable evenness of tone and regularity over a wide range of notes. Here is what Conn said at the time. Built in small bore, but the seamless bell of Coprion gives it the power you would expect only from larger bore. Ease of playing, beauty of tone, accuracy of scale and amazing flexibility. Impossible to overblow or crack a note. Patented Clickless Crysteel valves. This horn looks beautiful and plays very well. The valves have very good compression and the slides all move of course. As for the aesthetic condition of the horn, there are a few small dings and some light rippling throughout the horn. The bell engraving is in good shape, and the text of the engraving reads “C G Conn Ltd/ USA/ Elkhart-IND”. All the minor imperfections are visible in the pictures, and none of it affects the playability of the horn. This instrument has been professionally cleaned in our shop and repaired to full playability. This horn is not lacquered; therefore fingerprints should be wiped off after use if the player wishes for the horn to stay as shiny as it is now–if they are not wiped off then the horn will develop a lovely patina. This trumpet comes with a somewhat worn case and a mouthpiece in good condition for play-testing purposes. All horns are located at Silver & Brass Music Shop. Up for grabs is the legendary Conn 62H made in Elkhart Indiana. Bell and rear crook is made of rose/red brass and produces that classic Elkhart sound. Recently run through the hands of the pros and everything functions as it should. Tuning is in the slide and not where it is normally in modern horns. This is said to free up the bell and “let it ring” by many Conn enthusiasts. The item “Elkhart Conn 62H Professional TIS Bass Trombone Bb/F/Eb” is in sale since Thursday, January 24, 2019. This item is in the category “Musical Instruments & Gear\Brass\Trombones”. The seller is “thehornpros” and is located in Lehi, Utah. This item can be shipped to United States.
