1965 Buffet Crampon – Evette & Schaeffer “American” trumpet. Upon receiving it, I was amazed to find it is the best playing trumpet I have ever owned. Take a close look at the photos. Notice the details; mother-of-pearl inlays on the 1st and 2nd valve slides, concave mother-of-pearl valve top buttons, a bell edge garland, extensive bell engraving, upgraded water keys and use of nickel silver accents throughout. There are no dents, dings or scratches. It has aged to a beautiful dark patina. Included with the trumpet is the original hardshell case in excellent condition for it’s age, the original Carl Fisher 7C mouthpiece and a Bach 5V deep’V’ mouthpiece both in excellent condition and a Bach straight.
Please-Please keep in mind that this horn has been completely rebuilt, taken apart, put back together in great condition. Buffet Crampon Super Dynaction E flat alto sax. I got it in 1963 and it was last played around 1984 by my wife’s youngest sister. It was a great sounding instrument when I was playing it helped me stay in first chair most of the time in school. Now, nearly about 35 years later, a few pads need treatment or replacement as one would expect. One or two springs may be getting a bit weak. The bottom of the bow is subtly flattened, and there may be a minor dent in one edge of the Eb key guard. Mechanically, everything else works fine. It looks OK from a distance of 5-10feet, but up close you can see that it would really benefit from refinishing: the lacquer is no longer smooth in places – common for age, the color is no longer uniform and is a bit dull, there are spots worn through the lacquer primarily on keys that don’t have touches, and there are some streaks of verdigris primarily on the front of the bow and bell. Buffet Crampon a Paris, also marked France, C – very good + condition. Brilhart Ebolin 112986, 3 – good to very good condition. 15 reeds – most never used. Brass lyre music holder marked depose France – very good to excellent. Black leather neck strap – very good. Black Buffet Crampon & Cie hardcase – very good overall with a couple of spots in the lining showing wear at the pressure points and a couple of repaired areas on the underside where the trim stitching had worn away. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like additional photos. I had a question of whether the large pads had resonators. All of the large pads have a silver colored, flat metal disc (probably stainless steel or nickel plated) that is attached by a central, slotted screw. The disc diameter is roughly half the diameter of the pad. The item “Buffet Crampon Super Dynaction E-flat Alto Saxophone, 1960s” is in sale since Friday, February 26, 2021. This is a fine-playing example of a Buffet Super Dynaction tenor saxophone #17XXX manufactured in Paris, France in 1971, in it’s original laquer finish. Pads are around midlife or newer, flexible, with necessary replacements and t. His sax is set up to good playing adjustment. Normal wear and scratching on it’s original laquer finish with scattered bumps and small dents. The speckled look of the laquer in the photos was normal for these saxes; it happens in most of them over time, but the finish is quite intact. This sax blows very freely with lots of power and edge and it is a great Mark VI substitute.
