Conn 16B Trumpet 1980’s – Reconditioned – Case & Conn 7C MP Bore. 460 – Serial# GC520. Horn shows well with general signs of use with some dent work, extremely solid trumpet. All slides are smooth and firm, 3rd slide moves nicely. Case is in good condition, zippers all work good and a Conn 7C mouthpiece is included. UpYourBrass shop policies are to offer only inspected, repaired, thoroughly cleaned, detailed horns. Horn is dis-assembled and inspected, soaked in an organic de-greasing solution and scrubbed. Body, valves and components are treated in an organic chem clean with Tesch products (Tesch is recommended by NAPBIRT). Hand-lapped valves and chambers (This process can take up to an hour). Complete detail of all components, hot water scrubbed and prepped for assembly. Valves aligned, pads and springs replaced as needed. Play tested and final inspected before listing for sale. Clean your instrument regularly (especially lead-pipe and tuning slide) and have a chem-clean or ultrasonic clean done every two years. Conn Director Bb Trumpet Beginner Student School Band Case Mouthpiece. This is good playing horn. Tuning slides and valves move well. Valve compression is good. Serial Number – SN P-31598. Overall it looks ok. Lacquer is about 70%. There are a few small dents. Serviced – Horn has been completely serviced including chemical cleaning, hand-washing, and ultrasonic clearning. Springs, felts and corks have been replaced as needed. Play tested to ensure playability. 7C mouthpiece in good condition. This is approprate for a inexperence player. Is a 1924 Conn 22B New York Symphony, with a rotary Bb to A conversion tuning slide. This trumpet is a wonderful example of American Quality. Built over 100 years ago, this trumpet can still compete with modern Bach Stradivarius models. The trumpet is Silver plated with a beautiful gold wash bell. The valve action is smooth and with very low spring tension. This trumpet would be perfect for anyone who is looking for a great quality horn that need little to not maintenance. Great for beginners and professionals alike! Stand out from the crowd and play a piece of American History! After restoring it back to playing condition, I used this in the UT Arlington Lab band and for my auditions for the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps.
I’m downsizing my trumpet collection and decided to let go of my Conn 8B Artist lightweight model trumpet. It is from 1972 with a serial number R15178. This was the go to model for jazz artists such as Freddie Hubbard, Lee Morgan, and Woody Shaw back in the day. It contains scratches, and finish wear consistent with a pre owned instrument, and there are numerous ding/ripples along the back bell curve and on to the bell tail. All lacquer has been removed on the leadpipe from the receiver to just past the pinky hook. All braces are tight and secure. It comes in a nice King hard case and a Conn 5 mouthpiece. The rim has a couple of nicks in it. Please be sure to view all pictures for a complete representation of this written description. It contains scratches, and finish wear consistent with a pre owned instrument, some letters scratched on the leadpipe by the receiver, and there are numerous ding/ripples along the back bell curve and on to the bell tail.
