I’m downsizing my trumpet collection and decided to let go of my Conn 8B Artist lightweight model trumpet. It is from 1972 with a serial number R15178. This was the go to model for jazz artists such as Freddie Hubbard, Lee Morgan, and Woody Shaw back in the day. It contains scratches, and finish wear consistent with a pre owned instrument, and there are numerous ding/ripples along the back bell curve and on to the bell tail. All lacquer has been removed on the leadpipe from the receiver to just past the pinky hook. All braces are tight and secure. It comes in a nice King hard case and a Conn 5 mouthpiece. The rim has a couple of nicks in it. Please be sure to view all pictures for a complete representation of this written description. It contains scratches, and finish wear consistent with a pre owned instrument, some letters scratched on the leadpipe by the receiver, and there are numerous ding/ripples along the back bell curve and on to the bell tail. B Student Trumpet comes with. Mouthpiece, and three valves. The instrument is made of brass with a lacquered finish, and features a piston valve type. It has a medium bore size and is designed for both beginner and director levels. The trumpet is from the United States. (made by Director Conn LTD). And is perfect for marching and valve types. Valves keys work nicely. There is wear on brass from hands and only several small dents/dings. Could probably be easily removed but i didn’t want to force it. Comes with Harmon mute and valve oil. I do not play so is not tested.

Here is a very nice Conn 12B trumpet with the Coprion bell. The serial number 320157 would date this one to 1937 which is interesting because Conn said they didn’t invent the Coprion process until 1938. There have been several other 12Bs found with 1937 serial numbers though so it’s been known to happen. It is in good condition. The “Clickless” valves are smooth and fast with no plating wear. All the slides work well. Some areas have been neatly resoldered and there is some lacquer missing as a result. The remaining lacquer is all original. There have been some dent repairs along the bell with some lacquer loss and some small dings remain. The stop rod for pulling the main slide to A is missing along with one of the guides for it. It plays very well with a strong clear sound. The original case has wear but is in pretty good condition with good latches and hinges. The handle is missing and the handle on the end is broken. It has an original Conn 4 streamliner mouthpiece that is gold plated. The mouthpiece is rough though, the gold plating is worn off the rim and plier marks on the body.

Based on the serial number M89853, this Conn Constellation trumpet was manufactured in 1969. Conn used a system where the prefix number (in this case, “M”) plus 50 gives you the year of manufacture. Stenciled with “B” on the lead pipe receiver.

Used CG Conn 6d, good working/playing condition, all valves good/all tuning pipes etc greased well & move fine. The story of the Conn 6D begins in the early 1920s with the introduction of the original “6-D” model. Equipped with a piston change valve in the “Schmidt” style, this 6-D was Conn’s first double horn. The 6D was revised in 1935 with a rotary change valve to much acclaim, quickly becoming. The favorite of big symphony players. The next-generation 6D takes the critical mouthpipe, first branch, and bell tapers of the historic 6D and pairs them with the chassis of the iconic Conn 8D. The switch to the durable nickel-silver Kruspe-wrap chassis of the 8D brings many of the construction advances to the 6D, including revised manufacturing processes, acoustic enhancements, and ergonomic improvements. The combination of yellow brass slide crooks, first branch, and bell with a nickel silver mouthpipe and branches blends the warmth of yellow brass with the clarity of nickel silver. New CNC-machined mouthpiece receivers ensure the critical mouthpiece insertion depth is the same from instrument to instrument. Like its predecessors over 80 years ago, the revised 6D is popular with professional musicians who praise its quick response and compact sound with a wide palette of tone colors. Teachers have also praised the more compact wrap and standard tuning slide arrangement as well as the easy control of the small-throat bell. Same historic mouthpipe, first branch, and bell tapers. Up for sale is a set/lot of 1 french horn, 1 tenor trombone, 1 trumpet and 1 cornet No repairs have been made, all are fixable or could be used as part horns. These horns could also be used for artwork etc. These do not have mouthpieces or cases. If you refer to the photos, you will see the horns have dents and finish issues. Vintage Conn Trumpet Victor PLAYS WELL! Elkhart 1930s Opera Glass Tuning Patina. Playing – This is good playing horn. Tuning slides and valves move well. Valve compression is very good for it’s age. Serial Number – SN 292219, I think, placing it’s manufactor in 1933. The Serial number is almost worn off and is very hard to read. Overall it looks good with a dark patina. The bell engraving is almost worn off. Someone has engraved their name and number on the bell. Evidence of previous repair and modification. Serviced – Horn has been completely serviced including chemical cleaning, hand-washing, and ultrasonic clearning. Springs, felts and corks have been replaced as needed. Play tested to ensure playability. Case – Includes a modern case in good condition. Mouthpiece – Includes an Olds 3C mouthpiece in good condition. It has some tool marks. This is a vintage horn. Vintage horns can be wonderful to play but are not new. They do not always function like a modern horn with a character all their own. They are not suitable for beginners.
