This trombone is in very excellent shape for its age but it does have some lacquer loss and dings in various places. This does not affect the playability of the horn as it sounds incredible. The F attachment is quiet and in tune. The slide is smooth I would rate it at a 9-10. It has good compression and no corrosion or wear on the slide stockings. It has that dark color lacquer that these vintage horns were known for. Ask questions, look at the pics, you wont be disappointed with this horn. It is in excellent condition: silver about 99.9% with no noticeable wear, a few very small scratches and dings, but really noticeable only on close inspection. Of all the sites on which we sell, this one allows the fewest photos, but more are available. It has a very small dent at the end of the second-valve tuning slide which is also missing the little pull knob, but if you just turn it backward, you’ll never notice. All tuning slides are free. Just through the shop, cleaned, lubed, and new water key corks installed. Valves are fast and smooth, plays very nicely. Comes in an excellent, lightweight ProTec ProPak hard-wall gig bag with strap and outside pocket-perfect for the bus or walking. Includes an excellent Bach Corp. 7C mouthpiece-Bach’s all-around, all-purpose mouthpiece but from one of Bach’s most desired periods of manufacture. If you are local, it also includes slide grease and a bottle of Al Cass valve oil a different one than in the photos, because I dropped that one and broke it open on my hardwood floor! This is the standard, heavy-weight, ML-bore Yamaha Xeno with the yellow brass bell-a strong core of sound with excellent projection. Made by Yamaha as the competitor to the Bach Stradivarius 180S37, so it is perfect for marching, symphonic, jazz and concert band! Conn 88HO Trombone with Protec Case. Includes Bach 5G mouthpiece and cleaning rod. It is time to move on to a new owner. This horn has no major dents, and I could locate only very minor ding. There is wear in the finish at the touch points. There is a bit of wear on the top of the tuning slide, and small marks periodically on the finish – again, nothing major. I would rate the main slide at 8.5-9/10. Using the right ratio of oil and water spray gets its very, very smooth, but a slide perfectionist may still not be happy with it. A trusted instrument repair person could probably work on the alignment to get to 10/10. The tuning slides move freely, and the trigger valve is smooth. For sale is a Henri Selmer K-Modified Lightweight 24B Bb Trumpet in great condition! According to the Horn-u-Copia database, this trumpet was manufactured in 1966. The words “K-Modified Lightweight” are engraved on the lead pipe receiver, and “24B” is also engraved on the bottom of the receiver (see photos 3 and 4). There is also a beautiful engraving on the bell (see photo 2). K-Modified trumpets are amazing sounding, beautiful instruments that play freely, with excellent control. The dynamical range and intonation of these trumpets is excellent! This particular instrument is in truly amazing shape for it’s age. There are a few spots of lacquer wear throughout the trumpet (see photos 9 and 10 for the worst spots), but nothing that is affecting the playability of this instrument in any way. There also is a small dent where the bell tail connects to the valve cluster (see photo 8), which is also not going to affect the playing characteristics. All of the valves work excellently and the plating is good (photo 7). The tuning slides all pull freely (photo 6). The first valve slide has a trigger mechanism to operate the slide, and it works very smoothly with very little resistance. The third valve slide also works extremely well, with very smooth operation. This truly is an amazing trumpet that any professional or student will be able to play for years to come. This trumpet comes with a Vincent Bach 3C mouthpiece and a Protec trumpet case. Both are in great shape, with only a little wear from normal use.
