Check out my other items. Be sure to add me to your favorites list. His listing is for a vintage Conn 6M’Naked Lady’ alto saxophone. The serial number is 315, xxx, and it is stamped “L” for low pitch. Is a 1st generation 6M, made in 1946. This was Conn’s glory days. It was an era in which most all of the dance bands saxophone sections played Conns all across the front line. This horn features rolled tone holes, a G# trill key, and a micro-tuner neck with a. N underslung octave key. This sax is in very good physical condition. The body is perfectly straight. There are a few very minor pings/nicks, but no significant dents or dings. The key-guards are all straight. I don’t see any re-soldered joints The neck has not been pulled down. It’s double tenons are round and true, and the micro-tuner is turning. The keywork is all moving freely, and all of the locking screws are present. The lacquer is original, but well worn/spotted, as you can see. I would say it is about 75% intact. As far as playability, it does play top to bottom, but it isn’t in optimum playing condition. The pads are old, and there are adjustment issues. A leak light inspection reveals leaks on many of the pads. Some of the leaks disappear as finger pressure is increased from light to medium or heavy, but not all do. As I said, it does play as is, so you can at least get a sense of its potential. To that end, I made a short demo video, linked below. See the product in action. This sax comes in a nice modern Protec brand case/gig bag. It is soft sided, but has a lot more padding than a typical gig bag. The exterior is canvas. There is one huge pocket on the exterior that can fit lots of accessories (probably even some sax stands, depending on how compact they fold down), and a smaller pocket that is good for an additional mouthpiece. There is also a special bag for stowing a mouthpiece and the neck in the sax bell. I don’t have the shoulder strap for the case, but any generic one will do. The case is clean and odor free inside. With a proper overhaul, this will be a fantastic player that will beat the socks off of any modern horn of comparable price. There are reasons why people still seek these old Conns out, even after 70+ years. They were made to last, and possess a tonal richness that you just don’t find in modern horns.
