Vintage Conn Trumpet Victor PLAYS WELL! Elkhart 1930s Opera Glass Tuning Patina. Playing – This is good playing horn. Tuning slides and valves move well. Valve compression is very good for it’s age. Serial Number – SN 292219, I think, placing it’s manufactor in 1933. The Serial number is almost worn off and is very hard to read. Overall it looks good with a dark patina. The bell engraving is almost worn off. Someone has engraved their name and number on the bell. Evidence of previous repair and modification. Serviced – Horn has been completely serviced including chemical cleaning, hand-washing, and ultrasonic clearning. Springs, felts and corks have been replaced as needed. Play tested to ensure playability. Case – Includes a modern case in good condition. Mouthpiece – Includes an Olds 3C mouthpiece in good condition. It has some tool marks. This is a vintage horn. Vintage horns can be wonderful to play but are not new. They do not always function like a modern horn with a character all their own. They are not suitable for beginners. It has good compression evidenced by a solid pop when the slides are pulled. Serial Number – SN S06587. Finish – It looks good. Lacquer is about 85% intact. Up close a number of minor dings and wear spots are visible. Serviced – Horn has been completely serviced including chemical cleaning, hand-washing, and ultrasonic clearning. Springs, felts and corks have been replaced as needed. Play tested to ensure playability. Case – Includes the original Conn case in good used condition. Mouthpiece – Includes a 7C mouthpiece in good condition. This is the correct mouthpiece for a beginner. This is a YBL 613H double rotor professional bass trombone. B-flat/F/G-flat/D independent bass trombone. This trombone plays and sounds wonderful! Has a nice dark mellow sound and the focused projection couldn’t be any better. An additional tuning slide is included to change the tuning. Rotors and tuning slides move freely. The plating on the inner handslide is in very good condition. The handslide is nice and smooth. The lacquer is worn on much of the instrument but doesn’t not affect the playability. This trombone has a few dings and blemishes as it’s well used but the playability is excellent! If you’re looking for a pretty horn this one is NOT for you but if you’re looking for an affordable professional trombone, look no further! Very nice vintage YORK Trumpet # 593850 mid 60’s? The horn plays great and easy. The slides are quick and quiet, with good compression. The valves have stains, but this does not effect function. The slides move very easily. The third finger hook holder is missing. The case is in good condition, but has some tape on one end (see photos) –the interior shows no evidence of breakage. The mouthpiece is a vintage elkhart, and has been sanitized. Fine vintage horn, ready to play.
