Wichita Band Instrument Company, Inc. Superb & extra-clean semi-pro trumpet from C. Conn, made in Elkhart (not Texas) in 1969. Model “6B”, in production for only a few years, late sixties / early seventies. NO dents or dings, 100% original bright silver plate, perfect and original pistons, showing NO wear to the nickel-plated valves. Case IS original, but has a small repair. It’s a rare Bb trumpet, worth more if all components are original. Perfect for a high school player or an enthusiastic adult amateur. Wichita Band Instrument Company is a small musical instrument emporium located in the center of the USA. The owners are Kansas natives Gary L. Ray and his two sons. Founded by a woodwind repair technician in 1953, we soon will commence our seventy-first year in business. We’re not a “back bedroom” operation but can report that we are the owners of a proper “brick and mortar” workshop. It’s in addition to any factory guarantees. For two full years, we will repair or replace (whichever in our estimation is the more advisable), pads, corks, springs or other parts required, at no charge to the customer. In the event of cracked or damaged wood sections, we will repair at no cost to the customer or replace the section and charge the customer only for our net costs for the replacement section. Wichita Band Instrument Company maintains a repair department capable of restoration work of the highest quality. Even though repairs are essentially “free” for the first two years, after that period has expired, we remain at your service to maintain and repair your musical equipment forever. It’s our “service after the sale” promise and has been since 1953! WICHITA BAND INSTRUMENT COMPANY / WICHITA, KANSAS / USA. This item is in the category “Musical Instruments & Gear\Brass\Trumpets”. H ello, and T hanks for visiting our page , M usic S hop- M ore. That which follows describes the process of refinishing any Trumpet, to look as good as the one pictured in this ad. The Trumpet in the picture display, is for representational purposes only, it is not for sale. Making the consideration to overhaul/refinish your Trumpet, Cornet etc. Is a big one! It is a process filled with questions, concerns, apprehension. Emotions that surround the most important of any considerations. Who do you trust? We realize that this instrument is very special to you, for lots of different reasons. Perhaps it is your personal favorite, the one filled with timeless memories? Alternatively, maybe it is simply one that you have acquired and ultimately plan to re-sell? Regardless of the reason, the level of professionalism with which you want it treated. Is your highest priority. You want to go forward with every bit of confidence necessary to eliminate your worries. You want a company that will give your instrument the level of care and respect that it and you, as the customer, deserve. Having said all of that, here is where the rubber meets the road. The jumping off point where everything becomes less clear with every inquiry you make! There are countless companies out there competing for your business. Your choices are many and varied, some good, some okay and some that are just plain bad. Also accompanying these confusing facts are an equally huge variety of prices for these services. Which further complicates your decision. Does the expensive service mean a better job? Or, conversely does a lesser cost mean a mediocre job? How do you really know who is good, bad, or indifferent as concerns all of these choices? Well, the good news is that there is an answer. And the simple fact is that none of the confusion above means anything relevant to the choice you are about to make. First and foremost, your decision should be one that begins by looking at the depth of a company’s history. These single criteria will determine how their services relate to your needs. A business that has a long and successful history of doing this type of specialized work would not have been able to survive, let alone prosper, without doing their job very well! This is the basis of credentials and reputations. Commodities that are built and cultivated over the long run and earned through learning, as well as, decades of practice by the individual. Our small company, musicshop-more , has been in business for over 20 years. In that time, we have overhauled and refinished several thousands of instruments, as well as, at least ten thousand mouthpieces. It is simply the reason why they are more expensive than us! Thus, being a small company means more care, personal attention, affordability. All in all. A much better job performed. Our specialty is Silver plating which is an art form in and of itself, as it must be done methodically and with great patience and expertise. So, here is what your instrument will get from us, over the course of approximately a month to six weeks. Upon its arrival, we will be photographing your instrument from a wide variety of angles, then both dating and time stamping these pictures. Following this simple step, we will. Thoroughly inspect your instrument, to determine what needs it may have. Included as part of our pricing, we will automatically fix all issues including any dent work needed. This price will NOT include replacing any damaged or rotted parts that will be needed for a total restoration. We will immediately contact you to discuss our findings, as well as, also quoting the cost of these replacement parts. Those decisions will of course be yours to make, prior to us beginning any work. The next step is that the instrument will be put through it’s first of Three (3) “Sonic” cleaning baths. This is a process of intense cleaning, sanitizing, freeing stuck slides etc. Addressing literally every part of the interior of your instrument that normal cleaning cannot reach! Once that is completed we will then begin all dent work needed and other repairs that need re-mediating to in order to make this horn look as new as possible. It is also at this stage we will replace any parts that you have previously authorized us to make. Following these repairs, the horn will be lightly buffed making the surface acceptant of its new finish. The instrument will now be put through its second “Sonic” cleaning bath. We then begin the new finish, beginning with a light cooper plating, followed by a Silver plating. After this plating process is completed, the instrument will be put through its third “Sonic” cleaning bath. Following all of this. We begin the reassembling of the instrument, including the replacement of all the felts, corks, water key pads and springs. Additionally, as a bonus, we also provide in this package. A new Silver re-plating of two of your mouthpieces, and a free gold wash for the inner bell, if you would like this done. There is no additional cost for these extras! As before we will date and time stamp and store these pictures for future reference. Why are we doing this. ? Any and all damage claims will have to be handled directly with Fed Ex. As an aside, it’s really a shame that we have had to add this step into our process. But as we all know. Not everyone in this world is honest! The decision is yours. Hopefully this tutorial makes a seemingly complicated process. A bit simpler for you to consider. Pictures are before and after job complete on my own horns. We look forward to serving you! This item is in the category “Musical Instruments & Gear\Brass\Trumpets”. The seller is “musicshop-more” and is located in this country: US. This item can be shipped to United States.

WICHITA BAND INSTRUMENT COMPANY 2525 East Douglas Avenue Wichita, KS 67211. Amazing 100% original Buescher bass, NO worn spots to the plating, nothing re-plated, NO DENTS, all new pads and corks, perfect perfect perfect. Serial #112,537, made in the GOLDEN AGE of saxophones, this one from 1923. This superb bass came to us dirty and dark, now cleaned up by us and with our full restoration. MINOR dings to the body have been balled out and are now invisible. Range is to high E-flat and the keywork + inside the bell are of bright silver finish. Case is new, mouthpiece is original. We get one, maybe two basses each year, but this one is the cleanest, least damaged that we’ve had for a decade. Yes, exactly like the one used in the twenties by the Brown Brothers Sextet. Like the one used by, recommended by, virtuoso concert artist Sigurd Rascher. We’ve spent quite a number of hours on this beauty, clean-up, replace pads and corks, straighten keywork where necessary. Folks, please keep in mind that this is a VINTAGE bass, quite different from a modern Selmer or Yanagisawa. Large bell, full and dark sound, absolute perfection! The low B-flat can, yes can, be played at ppp volume with perfect intonation. Possible on a modern bass? Top recommendation on this beauty! Case is sound, but worn. I played this horn in the high school band, dance band and orchestra, as well as the city band. I have made no attempt to polish or buff the finish.
