A nice Buescher True Tone Silver Plated Bb Tenor Saxophone on offer! The horn features a Front high F key, pearled G# and a “man on the moon” neck with salt shaker style octave pip. This True Tone Tenor had an extensive service in May of 2021 (see photo of full service receipt) and is now gleaming and plays nicely from low Bb to high F. The horn’s service includes 12 riveted brown leather new pads, extensive key fitting as well as a full polish. Please note there lyre holder has been long removed and the there is some re-soldering work present on the neck and body–including the neck strap ring being reversed for longer/safer usage. The True Tone Tenor’s finish is well used but 95%+ silver plating still intact with plenty of body/key scratches, dings and evidence of past dent work. The neck is in good shape and seals well to the body with a re-soldered fully functional octave neck key and re-soldered saddle post. Sorry, no overseas sales for this item. Up for sale is a Used Besson 785 Compensating Bb Bell Front Tuba. Used as is condition. This tuba was built in England and features the Automatic Compensating System. It is in playing condition but needs a complete internal cleaning and exterior silver polishing to restore the shine. The valves are air tight, the front 3 slides were spray painted silver but we are not sure why. Plating on them may be under the silver paint? The main tuning slide is missing the cross brace. This has an English Shank mouthpiece receiver which is smaller than the traditional US receivers. A standard mouthpiece like a Bach only inserts about ½ inch. English shank tuba mouthpieces are difficult to find and expensive. Most players replace the English Shank mouthpiece receiver with a standard receiver and use the mouthpiece they are accustomed to using. Please refer to the last photo, it gives a brief explanation on the automatic compensating system. Key of Bb Made in England Brass construction with satin silver finish on body and bright silver trim. Inside bell flare was buffed to brass and lacquered. The satin finish looks to be original. Holton 330CC Harvey Phillips Double C Four Piston Professional Tuba. This tuba was designed by the late great Harvey Phillips in collaboration with Holton’s low brass team. Phillips was arguably the greatest tuba advocate, instructor and player in the 20th century. Phillips felt this was a truly remarkable tuba and recommended it for high quality orchestral and band performances. It is a dual bore, four valve piston, front action compact full size tuba with strong projection and a smooth rich full sound. Included is a very heavy duty road case and a Vincent Bach 18 mouthpiece in excellent condition. This tuba is around 19 years old but is in very good condition. Cosmetic blemishes include light surface scratches, pings, normal wear and a few small indentations. The worse can be viewed in the last two photos. As you can see, overall in very good condition. There are no large dents or blaring concerns and most of the lacquer is very nice. It is certainly a tuba you can feel proud to take out of the case. Box address because the size and weight. Conn Model 30I “Wonderphone” double bell euphonium. Serial #358148, manufactured in 1946 in Elkhart, Indiana. The model 30I has all the features that make it a desirable horn- double bell front (both bells adjustable), 5 front action valves, and short valve action. 563″ bore, 11″ and 6 1/4 bells. Model 30I production ended in 1946 making this euphonium one of the last ones made. This is state of the art for double bell euphoniums. This euphonium is in great playing condition. The valves show little wear. The short action valves are very fast and smooth. The Conn short action valves are a big improvement over regular longer action valves found on most horns. They are much better than the valves on modern euphoniums I have played like King and Jupiter. The horn has a nice rounded tone and it plays in tune. This horn shows its age cosmetically. The finish is worn and tarnished. There are some small dents and dings but no major damage. There is evidence of dents that have been professionally repaired. All the slides (there are 6 of them) pull easily, and the spit valve corks 5 spit valves! The original case is in good condition, the leather retaining straps are intact but the leather handle is broken (it will be included).
