York & Sons Grand Rapids MI. With Original Case & Accessories. Includes: 2 mouth pieces – one from York & Sons, the other by Clarke; 2 trumpet mutes; music sheet holder; 1 rod that I don’t know what it’s for, and the original key to the case. This trumpet belonged to my father who was born in 1911 and played it in high school so I would put the age of this around the early to mid 1920s. Hasn’t been played in many years. Is tarnished – needs cleaning. The case has a musty smell but still has the straps to hold down the trumpet & some accessories. Closures are intact & work. Wichita Band Instrument Company, Inc. Superb & extra-clean semi-pro trumpet from C. Conn, made in Elkhart (not Texas) in 1969. Model “6B”, in production for only a few years, late sixties / early seventies. NO dents or dings, 100% original bright silver plate, perfect and original pistons, showing NO wear to the nickel-plated valves. Case IS original, but has a small repair. It’s a rare Bb trumpet, worth more if all components are original. Perfect for a high school player or an enthusiastic adult amateur. Wichita Band Instrument Company is a small musical instrument emporium located in the center of the USA. The owners are Kansas natives Gary L. Ray and his two sons. Founded by a woodwind repair technician in 1953, we soon will commence our seventy-first year in business. We’re not a “back bedroom” operation but can report that we are the owners of a proper “brick and mortar” workshop. It’s in addition to any factory guarantees. For two full years, we will repair or replace (whichever in our estimation is the more advisable), pads, corks, springs or other parts required, at no charge to the customer. In the event of cracked or damaged wood sections, we will repair at no cost to the customer or replace the section and charge the customer only for our net costs for the replacement section. Wichita Band Instrument Company maintains a repair department capable of restoration work of the highest quality. Even though repairs are essentially “free” for the first two years, after that period has expired, we remain at your service to maintain and repair your musical equipment forever. What can I say. This was my dad’s saxophone for many, many years. He kept it in pristine condition until his passing. He played a lot of big band and traveled around the country doing it. It was his passion. I can appreciate the tone this saxophone can make when played by a pro. Sax is in very good condition. Not sure what the extra buffed area is on one of the photos. There are no dents. The pads are in good condition but the instrument may need a little touch to get it playing like it did. Has a Martin mouth piece but not sure if it is the original. Zildjian/Noble and Cooley 6.5x 14 Brass Snare Drum Vintage 1989 Rare All Orig. Very rare classic snare was produced as a joint project between two of the worlds oldest and most respected manufacturers of percussion instruments, Zildjian (1623) and Noble & Cooley (1854). Basically, its a drum made from Zildjians brass cymbal alloy, cast to a design by Noble & Cooley, and featuring their hardware. These were only in production for about two years beginning in 1989, and were limited to about 300 drums. Production was difficult because of problems with the brass shell casting, and a number of these ended up being scrapped after developing cracks and other defects, increasing the scarcity of an already much sought-after drum. Why all the fuss? These drums have the amazing tone youd expect from the legendary makers and the top-flight materials that went into them. They are often rated among the all-time best studio instruments among drummers, sound engineers, and vintage gear enthusiasts. This particular example was manufactured in 1989, and is marked with serial no. Ive had it since the early 1990s, and used it for home recording projects exclusively back in the mid-to-late 90s. Since then, it’s spent almost its entire life stored safely away in its original cardboard box. This drum is entirely original! Even the heads have not been changed since I acquired it over 25 years ago. Apart from some light scuffs and minor oxidation on the finish of some of the hardware (and marks to the Remo Weather King head that can be seen in the photos), this drum is in outstanding condition, with all parts working perfectly. See last three photos. As I said, it has mostly been stored away in a climate controlled environment for the last 25 years. Considering its rarity, youd be hard put to find one in better condition. Don’t miss out! This is very desired Martin jazz trumpet in great shape! Dizzy Gillespie played one! Roy Eldridge played one! And you can play one! Horn is medium #2 bore serial #136xxx early 1940s range in excellent working shape with smooth valves and great valve action with awesome compression. Horn has been cleaned and water key pads have been changed for new. It’s ready to rock an roll or jazz and roll / pop and roll or rap and roll! This horn has a normal wear around from normal use over years , no abuse , no patches , no rot and brass is excellent shape. One finger button the middle one is not original but I found a very very close looking one to other two even with the same line pattern hard to see the difference comparing to other two and alignment on downstroke is fine as well. Bell flare as well as area up to bell engraving still have original darkened lacquer since these areas were not touched by hands as much over years retained original lacquer. It’s a great players horn which due to standard wear is not a museum condition so you can take it out of your home for a jam and not worry about it like you would with more mint! Horn is a great player and plays smoothly with great Handcraft Committee tone through the ranges. Horn comes with original case in good shape as well as more modern Bach 5c silver mouthpiece which works excellent on it. Sale is considered final. Thank you and have a great day and / or nite. Vintage KING SUPER 20 TENOR SAXOPHONE 1953 ORIG. LACQUER DBL SOCKET STERLING NECK. Just completely repadded by Yves Prager in Savannah, GA. Yves also does all Jody Jazz personal professional horns. Original case and new professional case included. Case has a cool pocket under the horn for reads and such. This saxophone also includes the original paper work from King dating to January 27th, 1953 seriously who keeps that stuff! It’s a one owner horn. I just received it so I’m technically the second owner. Has a dark rich sound. I have too many so this one must go. The neck is perfect. Lacquer is 80% intact.
