1978 Vincent Bach Stradivarius 42 Professional Trombone withF Trigger Attachment

Vincent Bach Stradivarius Model 42 Professional Trombone with F Trigger Attachment. Serial number dates to approximately 1978. Please look carefully at the photos and read the description. The instrument does play well as-is, but needs attention from a good tech to be at its best. Particularly the slide needs work. Th instrument shows signs of age, wear, and use. This includes scratches and discoloration to the lacquer, minor nicks and small dents, and past solder repairs (see pics – these could be redone and would look better). The water key and lock mechanism are intact. The tuning valves and F trigger all move freely and work properly. The slide works, but needs some attention – it has a couple small knicks and could be smoother. Overall a 6-7-ish/10 cosmetically. The trombone will come in a heavy duty SKB flight case that is in used, but good, functional condition. It will also include two mouthpieces. One is a aVincent Bach, one is a Benge. Both are 6 1/2 AL. The Bach is in excellent shape and looks to be a heavy weight/large shank mouthpiece. The Benge is in ok shape – needs some attention to the shank (which has a thinner wall than the Bach). Bach 42s are excellent quality professional trombones. This could be a great deal for someone willing to put some TLC into it. Make me offer, I’m open! I used this instrument to audition for festivals and make it on to the state level of competition as well as being accepted to universities as a musician. It is perfect for a student who is serious about trombone or is looking to have a quality instrument for their time in high school and beyond. It is not currently my main trombone, as I upgraded my second year of college. I would recommend this trombone to anyone! IN EXCELLENT PLAYING CONDITION & VERY GOOD COSMETIC CONDITION. THIS RARE 60H HAS THE TUNING SLIDE IN THE THE HAND SLIDE AND A ROSE BRASS BELL. THE HAND SLIDE IS SMOOTH, QUICK, QUIET & VERY RESPONSIVE JUST LIKE THE F ATTACHMENT. THE ROTOR & TUNING SLIDE WERE CLEANED AND LUBRICATED. THE BELL HAS SOME LIGHT PINGS AND A FEW SMALL DINGS (NOTHING SERIOUS). A FEW DENTS WERE PROFESSIONALY REMOVED ON THE BELL TUBING 12 FROM BELL RIM, A SMALL DING ON THE E PULL (NOTHING SERIOUS). LIGHT SURFACE SCRATCHES AROUND THE HORN (NOTHING SERIOUS). THE HORN IS IN REMARKABLE CONDITION FOR BEING 47 YEARS OLD. COMES WITH ORIGINAL CONN CONSTELLATION MOUTHPIECE, MOUTHPIECE ADAPTER, LYRE & ORIGINAL CONN HARD SHELL CASE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. The 60H is essentially the same as the 62H, except that it has a single rotor attachment. As on the 62H, the 60H has the tuning slide in the hand slide. The advantage of having the tuning slide in the hand slide is that this allows the entire bell section to be conical, instead of there being a cylindrical section to allow for the tuning slide. The 60H has a red brass bell (or “rose brass” as it is called these days). The 60H was produced between at least 1968 and 1972, and was probably discontinued sometime between 1973 and 1980. In a 1969 ad featuring the 60H, 62H, 71H and 73H, Conn says: We have just created the 4 finest bass trombones in the world… What Conn said in the 1970’s: Red brass bell for darker sound. THE 70H BASS TROMBONE HAS A #5 BORE. 562, AND A F ROTARY ATTACHMENT. IT ALSO HAS THE TUNING SLIDE IN THE HAND SLIDE, NOT IN THE BELL. THE ADVANTAGE OF HAVING THE TUNING SLIDE IN THE HAND SLIDE IS THAT THIS ALLOWS THE ENTIRE BELL SECTION TO BE CONICAL, INSTEAD OF THERE BEING A CYLINDRICAL SECTION TO ALLOW FOR THE TUNING SLIDE.
