This is a RARE 70’s VINTAGE Schilke X3LB for BERYLLIUM Bell model Bb Trumpet that is in pretty good shape. I will say 7 out of 10. This horn is special for TWO reasons: First – It is from the early 70’s and has the MATCHING serial number BERYLLIUM bell. Bells from this era are thinner and much more SIZZLE than the new Beryllium bells. Second – It was previously owned by J. Geils of The J. Geils and will pass on ALL the PROVENANCE documents to support his ownership. So, there isn’t another one like this and there never will be! It isn’t MINT, but operates perfectly with by my estimation 100% COMPRESSION. Geils collected trumpets, guitars, and cars, so he must not have played this one much. Has a couple small pings and some scratches that are there, but don’t impact the playability of this baby! Think BILL CHASE with a hair more bore, for more WHALING! This is a lightweight LEAD Commercial trumpet weighing 2lbs 2.3oz. Valves and all slides work as they should. These babies will sell fast, so don’t blink! This one is serial number 4385. THIS IS NOT A NEW TRUMPET, it has had some very slight work done to it over time. The bell bow and the bell have been worked on. I had Brass Alliance do the work for me. David Anderson does amazing work and he really took his time on this baby. I don’t need to sell this classic, so don’t look for too much in discount in the price.
