Dean is a CarolBrass dealer and is the designer of this trumpet. This trumpet is in like new condition with no damage and has had very little playing time. Here’s what Dean wrote about his creation. “CarolBrass CTR-3330L-RLM-(D)-L-Bb Custom “Deluxe Super Trumpet. This is my ultimate CarolBrass trumpet. I ordered this from CarolBrass as a “custom” horn to my specs. I wanted a trumpet that was visually exciting made of different metals. This is my nod to the old Getzen Super Deluxe trumpets of the 1950’s that have 4 different metals in the manufacturing. I call it my “Deluxe Super” CarolBrass model. I chose the harder nickel silver metal for the slides inner/outer to assist in even better slotting and intonation. Many Pros such as Al Hirt, Conrad Gozzo strictly specified that the inner slides be manufactured in nickel silver! Hence my choice here. I chose a larger #72 bell flare and larger diameter 5 1/4 bell made of 90% red brass copper for a warm glorious sound. This horn plays so nice… A great soloist horn. It blends well in a sectional or orchestra situation. Nice warmth and overtones from this one of a kind horn. It also has a sterling silver lead pipe and all red brass crooks for a stunning look. If you are playing commercial or lead, this horn may tone you down a bit so that you are not able to peel the paint off the back walls or make their ears bleed, (maybe that’s a good thing) but OHH.. You will sound ever so good! You can PUSH this horn and have fantastic projection but never have to worry about being too bright, harsh, or brassy. I just love this horn… So I decided to carry it on my website also. The horn is technically a 3360L model because it also has the Sterling Silver lead pipe. CarolBrass didn’t even know how to identify this model. Since it is a “materials” model they indicate it as a 3330L, and added “Custom” on the bell. I guess I pushed them to the limit with all of my metal materials and changes on this special order. Current status: in stock.
