Welcome to Ashantee Music! Matching Exceptional Students With Quality Instruments. Vernon Bach Stradivarius 180S43 silver Bb trumpet for sale! S/n 175XX makes it right around 1958. Cosmetically, it does have small dents and dings and signs of dent work here and there, mostly on the bell flare, but nothing glaring. All are easy to reach by the loving touch of your favorite tech. A very little bit of spotting along the leadpipe as seen in the photos, which is not the color of red rot and I don’t see any inside the leadpipe, but the pattern is similar and it would not be uncommon to find some red rot starting in the leadpipe of a horn this old. A very tiny bit of plating wear mostly at the end of the leadpipe at the main tuning slide. No signs of repairs or modifications. Of all the places we sell, this allows the fewest photos, but several more are available. All tuning slides free including the third-valve dump slide. New slide O-rings, water key cork, and stop rod bumper and nuts. I don’t know this history of this horn; parts of the main logo seem a little shallow, so it may have been replated some time in its life, or it may have been stamped with a worn-out stamp. Best of all-the valve pistons are absolutely perfect-having been made so this week by the Miracle Mark at Metzler Brass, who did a complete valve rebuild-and the compression is therefore also as good as new. It plays extremely well-a little brighter than I would expect for a 43 with great projection, well balanced with excellent slotting using a Bach 3C mouthpiece, and throwing a Bach 6 on it opens and warms it up a bit and gives it a great low end. Comes in a ProTec MAX case in good condition with a worn external pocket. An amazing, sought-after horn, and in about the best condition you’ll ever see!
