These early Getzen Eterna professional models are remarkable instruments and it has served me well. This instrument has been well taken care of and has only been utilized when the chamber music or recital solo required a C trumpet. So while the instrument is older, it has been lightly used and its condition is excellent: There is excellent valve compression, no sign of dry ro. On the lead pipe, and the silver plating is still in excellent condition with only 2 spots where there are minor signs of wear (see photos). Or an amateur who plays for fun and is tired of transposing hymns on Sunday morning. You are not going to find a better playing C trumpet anywhere close to this price. But this instrument has such a beautiful, free sound that I have not experienced in other C trumpets… I suppose there’s a possibility that it’s larger… But I honestly don’t know. All I do know is that it’s a special horn… Based on my research since posting… I’m beginning to think I priced it way to low. It’s wasted just sitting in its case…. Needs to be enjoyed.
