JANUARY GIFT $ALE $$ VINTAGE BENGE LA LARGE BORE 6 BELL RAW BRASS Bb TRUMPET

Rare Benge LA , CALIFORNIA 6 BELL LARGE BORE! AWESOME HORN FOR BACK TO SCHOOL / JAZZ COLLEGE PROGRAM ETC.. Horn is used in great overall shape. It appears that it’s been stripped to raw brass and brass is starting to develop nice darker patina. Serial range is #31xxx. L stamped on 2 valve casing other side from serial. Don’t see dents. Spotted one ding below bell pipe not far from bell engraving. What I see that possibly brace towards the player has been reinforced , there is a mark above bell engraving near front price which appears to be a mandrel mark line / it is not a crack it’s just a very slight elevated line / It’s hard to notice unless looked for. Valves have awesome compression and to me these appear to be replated recently as these appear to be in the breaking point process so these needs to be cleaned often and re oiled. I personally washed this horn recently but due to valves breaking its good idea to wash from time to time at this period of time. It also appears that previous owner changed tuning slide water key to amado water key which is very good as you won’t have to change cork ever again! Leadpipe is very good and everything appears to be original. This horn plays very nice but it still does have some resistance to blow against. I believe that’s how Mr Benge designed it. How could you possibly play all these high notes if you have nothing to blow against? I guess this makes sense. Horn has no case on photos but if you wish to have Benge case with this horn I do have one in good shape available and can include. Horn is medium #2 bore serial #136xxx early 1940s range in excellent working shape with smooth valves and great valve action with awesome compression. Horn has been cleaned and water key pads have been changed for new. It’s ready to rock an roll or jazz and roll / pop and roll or rap and roll! This horn has a normal wear around from normal use over years , no abuse , no patches , no rot and brass is excellent shape. One finger button the middle one is not original but I found a very very close looking one to other two even with the same line pattern hard to see the difference comparing to other two and alignment on downstroke is fine as well. Bell flare as well as area up to bell engraving still have original darkened lacquer since these areas were not touched by hands as much over years retained original lacquer. It’s a great players horn which due to standard wear is not a museum condition so you can take it out of your home for a jam and not worry about it like you would with more mint! Horn is a great player and plays smoothly with great Handcraft Committee tone through the ranges. Horn comes with original case in good shape as well as more modern Bach 5c silver mouthpiece which works excellent on it. Sale is considered final. Thank you and have a great day and / or nite. PLEASE READ THIS LISTING IN FULL AND SEE ALL PHOTOS WHICH ARE PART OF DESCRIPTION BEFORE DOING ANYTHING! NOTE : the Wolfpack case from photos is no longer available. Legendary Martin Committee trumpet serial range #203xxx listed for this summer jazz season and can make a great gift for that special jazz player! Horn is from late 1950s desirable range! Although this horn is medium bore for some reason has a feel of a larger bore and projects well and feels very stable in hands and in blow! Horn has some shallow wear around yellow lacquer. Please see all photos. I believe that lacquer is all original as all letters and numbers are crisp. Lacquer is a bit brighter yellow than it came out on photos I guess one light in my room gave a darker feel to photos. Lacquer has some scratching from use and a bit of wear. There are minor dings on the bell pipe from use and two dings on the leadpipe one on top one on bottom. These does not affect play and could be easily repaired if someone wishes to do so. There are no major dents! Brass is very healthy on this horn and valves are excellent. I owned this horn for few years. This horn is being listed during this graduation / summer season and may not be reposted so please make your decision fast if you wish to own a great playing vintage Committee. It can make a great gift The ring on 3rd slide is duplicate ring which looks very close to original / just like original ring. This horn is not a mint museum piece but its in very good shape and its meant to be played not stored! Dont miss and please take care of your own mouthpiece.
