Alexander F/Bb Double French Horn with Detachable Screw Bell

Alexander F/Bb Double French Horn with Detachable Screw Bell. New Alex 1103 gold brass leadpipe. All valves & slides work well. According to a company rep, this Alexander horn dates from the 1950’s. It has a Knopf wrap like the current Alexander model 200. This horn is in very good condition. It is completely unlacquered. This horn was totally reconditioned by John Mason, a horn specialist in Los Angeles. All 4 valves were overhauled / replated, the leadpipe was replaced with a factory Alex 1103 gold brass lead pipe, and all leaks were fixed. The horn is working well and has a nice mellow sound. All valves and slides are free and working. Valve compression is good. As an older instrument, it does show minor dings and scratches from years of use. No case is included. From a smoke-free, pet-free home. _gsrx_vers_841 GS 7.0.16 (841). The item “Alexander F/Bb Double French Horn with Detachable Screw Bell” is in sale since Saturday, May 11, 2019. BESSON 785 COMPENSATING Bb BELL FRONT TUBA, DETACHABLE BELL, BUILT IN ENGLAND

Sorry, no overseas sales for this item. Up for sale is a Used Besson 785 Compensating Bb Bell Front Tuba. Used as is condition. This tuba was built in England and features the Automatic Compensating System. It is in playing condition but needs a complete internal cleaning and exterior silver polishing to restore the shine. The valves are air tight, the front 3 slides were spray painted silver but we are not sure why. Plating on them may be under the silver paint? The main tuning slide is missing the cross brace. This has an English Shank mouthpiece receiver which is smaller than the traditional US receivers. A standard mouthpiece like a Bach only inserts about ½ inch. English shank tuba mouthpieces are difficult to find and expensive. Most players replace the English Shank mouthpiece receiver with a standard receiver and use the mouthpiece they are accustomed to using. Please refer to the last photo, it gives a brief explanation on the automatic compensating system. Key of Bb Made in England Brass construction with satin silver finish on body and bright silver trim. Inside bell flare was buffed to brass and lacquered. The satin finish looks to be original. Automatic Compensating System 3 upright valves 24 detachable bell front bell. 730 Large Bore 36.5 body length (without bell) 27 total pounds (body and bell) English Shank mouthpiece receiver Mouthpiece is not included. Conn 8D Elkhart French horn, Detachable flare, custom wire brushed finish NR

Elkhart Conn 8D serial # 901414. Detachable flare, unknown ring set, Very large similar to the Paxman large ringset, but I dont have one to check if compatible. It engulfs an Alex ring. Because it sets lower on the bell tail the corpus will not fit in some detach cases, It does fit in an Paxman flat case, but not in a Yamaha flat case. Valve compression, useable but the usual minor leakage encountered in older Conn horns. No skanky notes, good to High C. Bell flare sports a copper Michigan Badge/ patch and the flare has two high temp silver solder pin hole patches, see pics. Nickle hand guard has a small dent. Wire brushed satin finishclean it with a green scrubbie No lacquer with the exception of some inside the bell flare Mechanical linkage on the thumb valve. A good horn for someone who needs a detach bell horn, and you get the Elkhart quality and desirable NiSi.
