Franks are some of my favorite horns, this Barrington Illinois built Biltmore model is in good shape and plays wonderfully. Valves are smooth with excellent compression, slides are smooth and firm, caps thread easily. Case is solid, left latch has been moved and tape covers the original latch location, case latches fine, hinges are good and the case is in good shape, the horn comes with a vintage Blessing 13 mouthpiece which fits the receiver properly. UpYourBrass shop policies are to offer only inspected, repaired, thoroughly cleaned, detailed horns. Horn is dis-assembled and inspected, soaked in an organic de-greasing solution and scrubbed. Body, valves and components are treated in an organic chem clean with Tesch products (Tesch is recommended by NAPBIRT). Hand-lapped valves and chambers (This process can take up to an hour). Complete detail of all components, hot water scrubbed and prepped for assembly. Valves aligned, pads and springs replaced as needed. Play tested and final inspected before listing for sale. Clean your instrument regularly (especially lead-pipe and tuning slide) and have a chem-clean or ultrasonic clean done every two years. Vintage cases are all disinfected, cleaned and sanitized but there may be a residual horn smell in any old case. UpYourBrass Policies (please read).
