Up for consideration is this vintage F. This particular horn is from the private collection of esteemed jazz trumpeter Ryan Kisor. Among being a member of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra since 1994, Kisors discography has over 170 credits to his name. As a native to the Sioux City area, it has been a privilege to serve Ryan and his family for many years. This trumpet is very good condition overall. There is quite a bit of lacquer wear throughout, but nothing to affect playability. The valves are fast and aligned, with matching serial numbers. The slides are smooth and straight. The bell engraving is very clear, but the bell suffers from the most lacquer loss. Included in the sale is an era appropriate Olds hardcase that is in great shape. The serial number, 53663, dates it to 1949-51; it is a Los Angeles horn. The Pearl inlays are in great shape and the horn appears to be in original condition. This is a MINT Holton H-379 double French horn in nickel silver construction. The H-379 is from Holton’s line of intermediate double horns and these are excellent instruments that proudly carry forward Holton’s tradition of fine French horn making. This instrument has had very little playing time and is in perfect condition.
