King Super 20 Alto Saxophone Full Pearls from 1949 in great condition

For sale is a beautiful original lacquer full pearl King Super 20 alto saxophone with a recent overhaul! This horn is a prime era Super 20 serial #303xxx original lacquer example, from 1949, with a solid silver neck, full pearls, in that stunning original shiny gold King lacquer, that only so often comes around! These horns are getting more and more difficult to find (more difficult that a vintage Mark VI), especially the full pearls version, in such a great condition and therefore becoming more and more expensive!! When well-maintained, these horns will certainly keep their value for future…. Back in the days King used two types of lacquer, one coloring into very dark brown over the years and other one coloring into the bright gold color with a more red glow on this… This horn has the latter version lacquer. This horn is a seriously beautiful horn with original ornate factory hand engravings! Xxx is sometimes called the series 1A transitional, with the full pearls lined up and down the horn, popping silver neck, the B and Bflat key cups engraved, the single neck strap ring and the improved left hand pinky cluster, with Bflat in the bottom rather then next to the B and C (like the older King Zephyr and Series 1 S20 and also the Conn 6M used to have). This horn has been fully overhauled bottom to top with new pads approximately 4 years ago, and has no clicks, metal on metal or play on the keys. All of the corks and felts are in nice condition. But this is all cosmetic and doesn’t effect the playing or sound characteristics of the beautiful horn. This horn ships with is an old case in decent condition… If you are going to travel a lot with this horns (going to gigs) a more solid case (hard shell) is recommended. 1947 H. N. White King Super 20 Alto Saxophone Full Pearls Sterling Neck 287, XXX

White King Super 20 alto saxophone with full pearls and a sterling silver socket neck. This first series vintage Super 20 alto sax is complete and no keys are missing or broken. The pads and corks are older and some may need to be replaced in the near future. There are a few noticeable minor bottom bow dents present and the body/neck have several minor dings throughout. The body and sterling silver socket neck share the same serial number, which is in the upper 287, xxx range and dates the year of manufacture to approximately 1947. There are scratches throughout from normal use and some lacquer wear, but most of what appears to be the original lacquer is present and approximately 85 to 90% of the lacquer is intact. Included is a somewhat used King wood shell alto saxophone case(leather trim is worn and has a noticeable tear, has a center buckle latch and one case latch spring is broken, but both outer latches catch as intended, interior is intact, case handle may need to be replaced soon). White King Super 20 tenor saxophone. All keys move freely and the pads/corks are in good condition. This tenor saxophone has full pearls, a double socket sterling silver neck and has visible bell/bell key engraving. There are no major dents present and several minor dings don’t affect performance. This tenor sax has scratches throughout from normal use and almost all of the lacquer is missing. The matching neck/body serial number is in the low 298, xxx range, which dates the year of manufacture to approximately 1949. Several key guards show signs of having been re-soldered, one of the clothes guard screws is missing and a minor crack is present in the outer neck socket(at the neck screw tightening slot). White King Super 20 “Silver Sonic” tenor saxophone. All keys move freely and the pads/corks are in good condition. This tenor saxophone has full pearls, a sterling silver bell, a double socket sterling silver neck, elaborate bell/key engraving and gold plating on the inner bell/on bell engraved areas. There are no major dents present and several minor dings don’t affect performance. This tenor sax has scratches throughout from normal use and the lacquer wear is minimal, with approximately 85-90% of lacquer intact(possibly not the original lacquer). The matching neck/body serial number is in the low 298, xxx range, which dates the year of manufacture to approximately 1949. Part of the pearl touch piece on the Gb/Ab left pinkie key is missing and a piece of cork has been substituted as the touch surface. Included is a like new Gator tenor sax case(includes two keys and a case carrying strap) and a brass body tenon cap. No mouthpiece is included. The item “1949 H. N.
