This particular horn is the sister horn of the same horn owned by Wynton Marsalis. This was made at the exact same time and this exact horn was used to tune Wynton’s gold 30th Anniversary P3. A very rare horn of stellar quality and perfection. Although this horn is “pre-owned, ” you wouldn’t know it. The horn is flawless and performs just as if it left the factory today. It was meticulously maintained and is as clean as a new horn. The case is absolutely gorgeous (as many know) and the three integral mouthpieces complement the horn beautifully, “disappearing” into the leadpipe when screwed in, as all integral Raja mouthpieces do. Aside from the case and three mouthpieces, it also comes with an oversized double Monette mouthpiece case and leather case strap. The mouthpiece sizes are B2S5 (Wynton’s mouthpiece), B4 LDS and B4 LS S1. NOTE that the opal finger buttons (pictured) are an OPTION that we will included ONLY IF we still have them in stock. These finger buttons alone are very expensive and did not come with this particular horn, but are Monette finger buttons. The lower half of the picture shows other stones and styles we also custom make. There is way too much to say about this incredible horn. It has amazing power and can blow you away from across the room but can also produce the warmest and most creamy subtle tones for mellow jazz. Anyone who’s aware of Monette quality will know that they don’t compromise and they consistently produce the finest trumpets on the planet. As mentioned, this particular horn is a celebrity-owned instrumentsomeone who has just decided to have new custom horns made by Monette instead, more for personal aesthetic and weight considerations (he prefers even heavier and sheet-braced). But he only has massively positive things to say about this beauty, as do we. This P3 is a nice weighty instrument that provides warmth and power, but not too heavy like a Rajna, Tantra or similar fully sheet-braced trumpet.
