This was very close to me having marked this as New as it is in that great of condition. It was owned by a gentleman that only played it around his house intermittently and was not in a band. I was told he bought directly from the Kanstul factory in Anaheim. Pictures show the condition which is exceptional. All the valves are super smooth and slides move freely except for the main one as I was a little hesitant to pull on it hard. It also comes with the oversized valve caps, buttons, spare springs and other parts. If you want more pictures please ask.
Here is a hard to find Silver Super Olds Trumpet in great shape. This is a great horn. It was overhauled and is in great play-tested condition. The serial number is 382234 placing it in the 60’s. I’ve had it for a few years as a backup horn. Super Olds are great all around trumpets and a silver one is harder to find. The valves are smooth and fast and the horn has a great bright sound. There is minor wear on the valve casing and 2nd valve hook. There is slight erosion near the lead pipe entrance. Any questions, please ask.. Up for sale is my 1933 Conn 24H Trombone. This horn is in beautiful shape. The inner stockings are near perfect and there is little finish wear around the hand grip. The decoration on the bell is wonderful. This little horn is louder than it appears and sings the higher notes. Does not come with a mouthpiece. This is info from the Conn Loyalist page. The 24H has the tuning slide in the bell, and had light weight slides. It reportedly has a #2½ bore (0.484). It was built between 1928 and 1951. However, there also is a 24H model which was built between 1958 and at least 1966 of a very similar description. Conn reinstated this model in 1958. Apparently Si Zentner played the 24H a lot. What Conn said in 1931: The most popular trombone in the Conn line. As the name implies, this model combines the fine qualities of both the Artist model and the Ballroom model – two Conn trombones that have made trombone history. Built in medium bore, it has the same magnificent tone as the 4H Artist model. Added to this are the great many attractive features which have made the Ballroom model a great favorite. The bell is back near the player so it is easy to reach for muting and wow-wow. The slides have extra-long carriage which prevents sagging in lower position. Bell lock for locking bell and slides together, and the slide lock which prevents slides from dropping to the floor and becoming damaged are valuable refinements. Tuning slide in the bell; balancer standard feature. Key of Bb; bore. 485; 6½”, 7″ or 8 bell. What Conn said in 1950: The 24H Artist-Ballroom model is the choice of many dance men. Its bell is back for convenience in muting; this feature combined with balancer gives it unusually good balance. Noted for marvelous intonation and easy response. I will be listing more old Conn trombones in the next few weeks. It is time to clean out the collection. This is a custom trumpet with a bell shape so that you play it like a saxophone. One of a kind. I bought it aprox 25 years ago at a NAMM show. It was on display in one of the exhibits. It was made by Deg. There are no scratches or dings. It looks like new and plays very smoothly. Valves are like new. Hope someone gets the fun out of this horn that I have had.
