Here is something you don’t see everyday! Rudy Muck mouthpieces/ one for the trumpet and one for a Flugelhorn!! These mouthpieces have been sitting for years on end. I’ve owned these mouthpieces for at least 50 years never played them. Oh I’ve attempted once or twice! But to no avail. From the sources I’ve investigated as well probably all did, Maynard Ferguson started his career with a Rudy Muck 13C, and we all know that story. Well anyway a Flugelhorn mouthpiece made by Rudy Muck in a 13C diameter, this is basically unheard of, but here it is. It is stamped Made in England, does that have something to do with this (I have no idea) I know they made cornet Muck mouthpieces but I never realized until this last conversation, that they made a flugelhorn mouthpiece. But apparently they did. So it is exactly the same diameter. 0.640 inches across with the heavy comfort rim. If you can play this diameter then this could be your greatest combination. I completely forgot about these mouthpieces because I just don’t ever think about that diameter. So anyway I cleaned them up and apparently it’s the original Gold plating on them. One is darker than the other. But we acid tested them and they are definitely 24K gold plated. The trumpet mouthpiece has a #25 throat and the Flugelhorn mouthpiece has a #18 throat, which makes perfect sense, because the diameter is so small. So that’s it. No scratches, or imperfections these are like NOS Mouthpieces. Please read the description thoroughly and review the pictures as well. Any questions you may have please contact me.
