There is an inherent problem with most bass guitars that is not generally known – the cheap plastic nut. Large diameter bass strings tend to cut into the nut slots. Take a look at your nut and you’ll probably find the nut slots have deepened from string abrasion. Every time you adjust the tuning, you saw-tooth the slot. Over time, this lowers the string and results in string buzz. Well, a great way to solve this problem is to use a hard, brass nut. And musical brass is the perfect choice as it is tonally superior.
