Not sure if it’s complete or fully functional instrument.
Valves are free and spring back readily. There are a few small dents in the bell and one other. It measures 19.5″ long and 4 5/8″.
I believe the case is not original, no mouthpiece. Valves 2 & 3 are sticky and slow, looks like valve 1 may be incomplete, see last photo. Otherwise there are some small dings and there maybe the slightest bit of misshapenness on the bell rim.
Antique Silver Trombone With Mouthpiece And Case. This one is a mystery as I could not find any type of markings on it to tell who made it. It is in pretty good condition for it’s age. It does have the usual dents on the turn where it usually rest on the floor but no major dents that I found. It has a silver finish with a brass bell. The case has seen it’s better days but it is a G & S case. The mouthpiece’s only markings is that it states.
Please see pictures as I don’t know what year this is from. Please take note of emblem and solder joints. It’s a beautiful piece.
This listing is for an Antique J. York & Sons Engraved Silver Trumpet Grand Rapids MI Vtg. The Closures are intact & appear to work. It has a lovely bit of engraving work. The design is excellent for many rooms and a large variety of decor styles. It makes this an excellent staple piece for your collection, one your friends definitely won’t have! A great collectors item, for use display gifting or decor. It is in good condition, with no major damage. Has some minor denting & wear to the plate as is usual. The only thing I see that would stop it from working are two very small perforations in one small tubing area. Looks easy to patch or replace. Thank you for your consideration, I appreciate your time. Reasonable offers always appreciated. Comes as shown, please see photos for details and measurements.
York & Sons Grand Rapids MI. With Original Case & Accessories. Includes: 2 mouth pieces – one from York & Sons, the other by Clarke; 2 trumpet mutes; music sheet holder; 1 rod that I don’t know what it’s for, and the original key to the case. This trumpet belonged to my father who was born in 1911 and played it in high school so I would put the age of this around the early to mid 1920s. Hasn’t been played in many years. Is tarnished – needs cleaning. The case has a musty smell but still has the straps to hold down the trumpet & some accessories. Closures are intact & work. Please view the photos as they are part of the description. Please contact me should you need additional photos.
Lovely Antique Markis Brass Trumpet.
Cornet looks complete but I’m not expert or have I ever played a cornet or trumpet before. The previous owner seems to have kept it pretty clean and the parts that move oiled.
