VINTAGE YANAGISAWA LOW “A” BARITONE SAX OPHONE MODEL: 880. SERIAL # 00109755 CIRCA 1997. This Very Nice “Original Lacquer” Yanagisawa 880 Bari is just back from the shop where it received a Professional Regulation, a NOS Neck Tenon, a New Neck Cork, and is Playing Very Well with the mixture of some new Pads with older pads that still seal properly. Using information located On Line about how to determine what year a Vintage Yanagisawa was made, I’ve dedu cted that this Vintage Bari was manufactured in March of 1997. This Original Lacquer Vintage Bari deserved to be housed in a Brand New Pro-Tec Contoured Zippered Case so it could rest comfortably and be well protected for its second owner. Check out the photos of this Yani Bari, and you will see wear from normal use on this 20 plus year old Bari. It still presents well and plays easily too. Ing the date of production for this Bari as being made in 1997 was based on Yanagisawa’s first method serial numbering their saxophones, which used the first digits of the serial number to I. The month & year of p roduction. The method using the manufacture date as part of the serial number changed to a more simple continual sequencing method for the 880 Models, which places this Bari being made in 1981.
