This is a great-playing example of a vintage Martin Committee III tenor saxophone, #163XXX, made in 1947 in Elkhart, Indiana at the peak quality of American saxophone production. Matching serial number on the neck. His sax has plenty of wear and scratching in it’s vintage relaquer finish, and 3 ot 4 post resolders, no effect on it’s great sound. Replacement thumbrest as see in photos 10 and 11. It is set up to good playing adjustment on a recent set of plastic dome resonator pads. This sax has a full, warm sound.
