This listing is for a raw brass 1951 Conn Pan American trumpet that is in EXCELLENT CONDITION for a 73-year-old vintage trumpet! The early 1950’s are considered by many to be some of the best years for American manufactured student trumpets that were hand-made by skilled craftsmen (like those who made the professional model trumpets). It holds two mouthpieces and provides large compartments to carry mutes, valve oil, etc. It has both side and top handles (plus hidden backpack straps that are neatly concealed under a cover that is secured by Velcro while not in use). This trumpet looks and sounds AMAZING! It has excellent slotting and intonation. There are a few super tiny dents and micro surface scratches that are only visible when looking very closely (so be sure to zoom in on all the photos). All valves and slides function perfectly! The finish of this trumpet is raw brass with beautiful patina raw brass valve caps and finger buttons for a cool contrasting color! However, the raw brass look may not be for everyone. A school band student may appreciate a plated or lacquered trumpet that doesn’t need to be wiped down after use to maintain a shiny appearance. Note: A raw brass finish will darken with a beautiful brass patina, which forms an ultra-thin protective layer. The raw brass instrument is free to resonate without a thick layer of sound dampening lacquer. Not having lacquer does not shorten the life of a brass instrument as long as the instrument is kept clean and is stored in its case in a good environment (not in a damp basement or shed for example). Simply wiping off the outer surfaces with a hand towel after playing will keep it looking good. Remember that the inside surfaces of all brass instruments are raw brass, so all brass instruments should be kept clean (inside and out) by wiping them down and storing them in their cases in a good environment when not in use. The fit and finish of this American made trumpet is very impressive! This is definitely one of the highest quality trumpets that you can find at this low price! With proper care and maintenance, which includes applying valve oil e. Blue Juice and tuning slide grease e. Bach 2942 on a regular basis, this trumpet can last a lifetime. I personally recommend using valve oil every time it is played to insure continued longevity and optimal performance. I personally tested, cleaned and lubricated this instrument. This trombone is in very excellent shape for its age but it does have some lacquer loss and dings in various places. This does not affect the playability of the horn as it sounds incredible. The F attachment is quiet and in tune. The slide is smooth I would rate it at a 9-10. It has good compression and no corrosion or wear on the slide stockings. It has that dark color lacquer that these vintage horns were known for. Ask questions, look at the pics, you wont be disappointed with this horn. It is in excellent condition: silver about 99.9% with no noticeable wear, a few very small scratches and dings, but really noticeable only on close inspection. Of all the sites on which we sell, this one allows the fewest photos, but more are available. It has a very small dent at the end of the second-valve tuning slide which is also missing the little pull knob, but if you just turn it backward, you’ll never notice. All tuning slides are free. Just through the shop, cleaned, lubed, and new water key corks installed. Valves are fast and smooth, plays very nicely. Comes in an excellent, lightweight ProTec ProPak hard-wall gig bag with strap and outside pocket-perfect for the bus or walking. Includes an excellent Bach Corp. 7C mouthpiece-Bach’s all-around, all-purpose mouthpiece but from one of Bach’s most desired periods of manufacture. If you are local, it also includes slide grease and a bottle of Al Cass valve oil a different one than in the photos, because I dropped that one and broke it open on my hardwood floor! This is the standard, heavy-weight, ML-bore Yamaha Xeno with the yellow brass bell-a strong core of sound with excellent projection. Made by Yamaha as the competitor to the Bach Stradivarius 180S37, so it is perfect for marching, symphonic, jazz and concert band! ML Bore 0.460 The TU05 Martin Custom Committee trumpets were built before and during the RMC days of Martin and are somewhat scarce and information is even more scarce. They are in fact a Martin Committee but have some alterations to the original design like a rose brass bell, first slide trigger, fixed ring on the third slide, different style pinky hook on the lead pipe, an addition of a brace across the tuning slide, different bell taper and flare and standard shaped water keys. Conn 88HO Trombone with Protec Case. Includes Bach 5G mouthpiece and cleaning rod. It is time to move on to a new owner. This horn has no major dents, and I could locate only very minor ding. There is wear in the finish at the touch points. There is a bit of wear on the top of the tuning slide, and small marks periodically on the finish – again, nothing major. I would rate the main slide at 8.5-9/10. Using the right ratio of oil and water spray gets its very, very smooth, but a slide perfectionist may still not be happy with it. A trusted instrument repair person could probably work on the alignment to get to 10/10. The tuning slides move freely, and the trigger valve is smooth.
