For those of you who may not be familiar, Frank is a true heavy hitter in the jazz world and has been featured on multiple Grammy winning albums. He is also the quintessential gear hound, having amassed a collection of over 500 mouthpieces! He now endorses and plays Jody Jazz mouthpieces exclusively so he is purging some of his massive collection of mouthpieces he has acquired over many years, as well as other random gear. Be sure to check out my other items for more great items from this collection. There will be more to come later, so add me to your favorites list and check back later to see new additions. His listing is for a vintage Conn 12M’Naked Lady baritone saxophone. The serial number 351, xxx indicates a c. It is not currently playable. Like most old bari saxophones, this horn has taken its share of knocks in its lifetime. There are no major dents, but there are lots of little dings and pings. It looks like there was dent work done on the bell, and possibly elsewhere as well. The rim of the bell is a bit wavy, and there are small dings on it. The feet of the low Eb key guard are pushed into the body a bit. There are a number or resoldered posts, including one which was done very poorly and needs to be re-soldered correctly. The body looks to have a slight banana bend. The neck has been pulled down and bent back up, resulting in a stress crack on one side, which will need to be patched. It still is a bit bent down, and has some small dings. Surprisingly, the pads on this horn are actually in decent condition. If perfection is not a concern, this horn could probably be put back in decent functional playing condition for a reasonable price. Of course, for optimum playing condition it would require a full overhaul. There is no case or mouthpiece included. Please feel free to message me with any questions! Thanks again for looking!
