King Liberty Trumpet Bb/A 1945 – Reconditioned – Original Case & King M18 MP Bore. 446 – Serial# 270. Lovely playing horn with Bb/A capabilities, all slides are marked for A tuning. This is one of the few Liberty models that has come through the shop without having difficulty removing the tuning and insert slide. Horn required light dent work and shows well with 60% lacquer and blemishes and scratches. Compression is good and all slides move nicely. Original case is solid showing wear in and out, latch springs aren’t working but the case does latch and hinges are solid, horn comes with a King M18 mouthpiece. UpYourBrass shop policies are to offer only inspected, repaired, thoroughly cleaned, detailed horns. Horn is dis-assembled and inspected, soaked in an organic de-greasing solution and scrubbed. Body, valves and components are treated in an organic chem clean with Tesch products (Tesch is recommended by NAPBIRT). Hand-lapped valves and chambers (This process can take up to an hour). Complete detail of all components, hot water scrubbed and prepped for assembly. Valves aligned, pads and springs replaced as needed. Play tested and final inspected before listing for sale. Clean your instrument regularly (especially lead-pipe and tuning slide) and have a chem-clean or ultrasonic clean done every two years. Vintage cases are all disinfected, cleaned and sanitized but there may be a residual horn smell in any old case. UpYourBrass Policies (please read).
