Getzen Deluxe 90 trumpet (10844) Era 1950 ML
Here is a (SEVENTY FOUR + year old Getzen trumpet). Deluxe 90 model A tri colored trumpet, a very rare instrument, However This is really something different. It’s not believed to be a stencil horn, Beacon was their Stencil horn, and has no prefixes before the Numbers. The serial number is (10844). The name GETZEN is written vertically on the bell. I acquired this horn in a trade deal, However when I measured the bore I was extremely impressed to find that it was a. 459 /60 bore she plays very open and very well in-tune. So I went the extra step, and had my tech change the lead pipe because the original one was dented. So he just happened to have a strad lead pipe #7 that he installed. WOW what a difference it made in the sound and the slots of this trumpet, However there were a few dents around the bell area but nothing major. This trumpet is dent free, and has this trumpet has valves like the day it was made. If you read about it you’ll find that Getzen was the Leader in Valve setting and action. Look at the valves they look brand new with absolutely not a hiss on the valve compression test! This horn is actually louder than my 72 Strad. The case and mouthpiece areoriginal to the horn. The mouthpiece is a 17.00mm equivalent to a Bach #1. I did however do some light touch up repairs on the case, the latches snap back strong and the handle is completely intact and original with Getzen written on it. So for being 74 plus years old and still kicking (big time) My hat is off to this trumpet!! Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate, or a professional player you will enjoy this trumpet. Any questions about this horn please feel free to ask me anything!! All offers are welcome. Have a great new year.
