Besson 8-10 Trumpet England – Refurbished – Case & Besson 6A Mouthpiece Bore. 458 – Serial# 272. This English built horn has a beautiful tone, rich round and dark. Bell flair has been repaired and was in bad shape, horn has 80% lacquer and shows valve wear on valve 2. Compression is excellent, even with the wear and slides are smooth, 3rd slide moves freely. Original case is solid, but shows wear, latch springs don’t work, but case latches, horn comes with a Besson 6A mouthpiece. UpYourBrass shop policies are to offer only inspected, repaired, thoroughly cleaned, detailed horns. Horn is dis-assembled and inspected, soaked in an organic de-greasing solution and scrubbed. Body, valves and components are treated in an organic chem clean with Tesch products (Tesch is recommended by NAPBIRT). Hand-lapped valves and chambers (This process can take up to an hour). Complete detail of all components, hot water scrubbed and prepped for assembly. Valves aligned, pads and springs replaced as needed. Play tested and final inspected before listing for sale. Clean your instrument regularly (especially lead-pipe and tuning slide) and have a chem-clean or ultrasonic clean done every two years. Vintage cases are all disinfected, cleaned and sanitized but there may be a residual horn smell in any old case. UpYourBrass Policies (please read).
