Conn Bb curved soprano saxophone with rolled tone holes. Most keys move freely and no keys are broken or missing. This soprano saxophone needs an overhaul(new pads, corks, springs and a cleaning for play-ability). The tarnished silver plating has scratches throughout, with approximately 85-90% of plating intact. There are no major body dents present and several minor dents can be removed during the overhaul. The serial number is in the low 70, xxx range, which dates the year of manufacture to approximately 1921 and has the letter “L” below the s/n(probably means this is low pitch). Included is a somewhat worn Conn wood shell soprano saxophone case(the latches work as intended, the handle is broken and needs to be replaced) and a used soprano sax mouthpiece/ligature. Silver and Brass Music Shop is a brick-and-mortar brass instrument restoration and repair shop located in Carson City, NV. Here is a 1939 F. Olds & Son “Super” model trumpet (serial number 6228). This is a beautiful instrument and it is in great condition for its age. This horn is in very good playing condition. The bore of the horn is. 460″ and the bell is 4 3/4″. The horn is made from a combination of nickel silver and yellow brass, and the bell appears to be made from bronze. As for the aesthetic condition of the horn, there are a some small dings as well as very light pitting over much of the horn. A previous owner used a trumpet stand with this instrument, and there are many scuff marks inside the bell from the stand. Unfortunately the original second bottom valve cap is missing, so there is a replacement. The finger ring and screw on the third slide have also been replaced. The bell engraving on the tone ring is hand-engraved, and reads: Super Olds / Made By F. Olds & Son Los Angeles Calif. All the minor imperfections are visible in the pictures, and none of it affects the playability of the horn. This instrument has been professionally cleaned in our shop and repaired to full playability.
