HN White KING 1480 5B trombone 1965 Silver (780)

HN White KING 1480 5B trombone. This is a King symphony trombone by the HN White company. These are fantastic horns! These were marketed as bass trombones but are essentially large bore trombones with a 9 in Bell. They morphed into the 5B. Serial number makes it a 1965 horn. Virtually a 5B with a different wrap. The bell throat is larger than modern tenors. This trombone has been professionally serviced to return it to its top playing condition. The slide, tuning slide and rotor work as good as new. The horn could use a good polish. The silver plate is95% and there is minor noticeable loss on the tuning slide. The sound is big and dark but not bass trombone dark. The low range is smooth and relatively easy to control, very much like a modern large bore tenor. The horn comes with a period appropriate case that is in fair condition but is not original. Up for sale is a rare, beautiful and killer horn in GREAT condition. Made at the original HN White factory in Cleveland, these 1055T Flair’s are difficult to find. And I have owned this one (serial 415, xxx) and a later Eastlake horn and THIS one is the better of the two, by far. Posessing a sound that is full and deep in the lower registers and with a searing, clear edge in the upper octaves. Valve action is quiet, short stroke and fast. Simply a sensational player! Silver finish is as close to 100% as I dare say. Valves are awesome and have great compression. There is a tiny sign of dent/scuffing on lower bell tail area, but it probably doesn’t show in the pics it’s so inconsequential. Any questions, please ask! Check my solid feedback; I only sell quality horns that I would be proud to own! The junky ones I have bought in the past go to charities.. OPEN HERE FOR THE PAST 20 YEARS! Vintage used King LIBERTY H N White Bb Trumpet With King Case GREAT PLAYER. Listing for todays sale great vintage King Liberty with sharp bell engraving Bb Trumpet made in Cleveland Ohio. Serial #256xxx Medium bore (plays open). Horns shows some wear and had a bell repair on the edge and it shows. Im clearing the room from horns accumulated from over period of many years as I used to compare many horns to each other in the past. This horn is a great player Going back to horn all slides are sliding except very front part of tuning slide which is usually the thing on these since other main part of the slide is sliding so the front does not need to slide and wont come out accidentally during playing. Valves are great with original serials and have great plating on actual pistons with great compassion. These ones in lacquer are pretty rare i believe more in silver used to be made. Horn plays very well in the whole range with the great tone. I dont see any dents or other repairs. Horn comes with more modern but also King Case in hard plastic. Case has King logo and is very handy and light and this horn fits very well in it. Case is in great shape. Also lyre for outdoor concerts is included which will be very useful these days and some Holton valve oil to start you with / will have to remove oil if horn sells internationally due to liquid restrictions in packages /. The round, lyrical sound of this King Master Model reveals its true beauty. The tones are pure and clearfrom a velvet softness to a bell-like brilliance. The traditional cornet lines, with gently sweeping mouthpipe, insure the rich sound. Combine this beauty and tone quality with truly rugged construction, and you have an instrument worthy of the name King. You play relaxed, and know this King Cornet will deliver all that you ask. Solid Sterling Silver Bell responds instantly, gives precise control, projects farther. The sound is richer, slightly darker with more overtones and the tone will not crack-ever! –King White Way Catalog #10, 1938. For sale by The H. White Company LLC, this magnificent Cornet with its solid sterling silver bell is in remarkable shape for its age. This cornet has been restored. The finish is new bake on lacquer which has better durability. The valves perform perfect and are super responsive. All slides are stamped with the appropriately matched serial numbers and fit perfect so there is no loss of air pressure. This cornet has new clear sprayed on lacquer which is rated at 98% perfect. The engraving is perfect. The gold wash is new 99% perfect. There are no large dents. There is one very small ding in the bell flair. There was some pitting on the exterior of the number three valve, see pictures. All slides operate smoothly. The springs are new. All the slides and valves are stamped with the appropriate serial numbers. Comes with original lyre and cleaning rod. The cornet comes in its original Gladstone style case. The HN White made Gladstone case is one of our favorites and this one looks great but has some issues. The handle was replaced. The case straps are intact but very week. Someone pulled of the top and we have glued it back on, see pictures. The interior of the case is in excellent shape but is missing its King name badge. We do not recommend that this case be used with day to day activities. This Cornet sounds great with its mellow full tone that you can only get with a solid sterling silver bell.
