Selmer MarkVI Alto Saxophone, RARE. For sale is a 1960 Special Ordered Selmer Mark VI Alto, with 99.9% (Actually, it’s 100%, but just in case) original silver plating in-tact, and gold wash bell. Special ordered with high F#, high Eb trill, G# trill, Eb trill. Obviously ordered by a classical player. Please see the photos to see all the special keys, and factory mods, etc. Let me say again, all these special mods have been done at the Selmer factory while the horn was being assembled. This horn is 100% original. This is the proverbial “white elephant”, a horn that doesn’t or isn’t supposed to exist. The only one like it I’ve ever seen set up this way, 5-digit, European the “S” on the octave key is painted a dark, navy blue. As this horn is 100% original, I believe this color to be as well. Not the normal royal blue, or black painted “S” you see on European horns of this vintage, etc. This horn has all the earmarks of a MkVI. The most versatile sound ever in Selmer history, big and bold, soft and sweet, and everything in between. Equally at home in a classical or jazz setting. Being silver plated, the response is slightly different from lacquered horn, as you know. Comes with the original Selmer tray-pak case (that has seen better days), and custom reproduction lignum vitae neck plug. The pictures say it all! Rarest of the rare! Here is a beautiful Yamaha YTR-136 Student Model Trumpet in stunning silver. This trumpet is in good condition, with no major dents and only two or three tiny nicks on the instrument. There are no dents on the bell. All slides move with the exception of the main tuning slide. All valves move freely. The valve tops have some wear from use. The spit valve/water key needs to be re-padded (see pictures). Comes with an unmarked mouthpiece and a Selmer case. The fabric lining on the inside of the case is coming off in some places around the edges; only the adhesive has failed, the fabric is not torn. Check out our other listings for more cool stuff! The saxophone is in decent shape for being a storage locker find it has no dents or bends. It has the original mouth piece in it. There is one key that has some rust and sticks. The others are all free. There is some corrosion on it. It needs to be repadded. Some of the lacquer finish is coming off around the bell and in the bend at the bottom I tried to get pictures to show it. Overall it is in repairable shape. The case however is beyond repair the top is falling off and the inside of the lid has some mildew. Included with the saxophone and case, there are some old reeds a old glass bottle that says Conn on it (in the first picture) and the neck strap. Note to international buyers… His listing is for a vintage “The Martin” Committee III baritone saxophone body. There is no neck included. All of the keys and key guards are there though. The body is pretty dinged up. There are no huge dents, but tons of small ones. It has multiple ugly solder repairs to key guards, posts, the neck receiver, and the strap ring. The bracket for the original adjustable thumb rest is missing, so the hook is soldered directly to the body very odd! It looks like the body has a slight forward bend, although not enough to cause binding of the keys. The keys are all moving and rebounding freely. The pads actually look quite good. They appear to be relatively new. They are all matching, with plastic button style resonators, and they are very clean. I didn’t put a leak light in it though, so I don’t know how well they are sealing. The lacquer is original. It is probably 80% intact. It has beautiful detailed engraving. Obviously this horn is not in playing condition, but it could be restored to playing condition if you get a neck for it. Otherwise it could provide valuable parts for restoring other more viable examples. Again, this listing is for the body only (as shown). There is no neck, mouthpiece, case, nor any other accessories. This is a fine-playing example of a Buffet Super Dynaction tenor saxophone #17XXX manufactured in Paris, France in 1971, in it’s original laquer finish. Pads are around midlife or newer, flexible, with necessary replacements and t. His sax is set up to good playing adjustment. Normal wear and scratching on it’s original laquer finish with scattered bumps and small dents. The speckled look of the laquer in the photos was normal for these saxes; it happens in most of them over time, but the finish is quite intact. This sax blows very freely with lots of power and edge and it is a great Mark VI substitute.
