Silver and Brass Music Shop is a brick-and-mortar brass instrument restoration and repair shop located in Carson City, NV. Is a beautiful H. “American Standard” Schmidt style “Pelletier” model double french horn. Serial number 548 (piston valve) & 535 (rotary valves). This horn’s design is based on the earlier C. Schmidt double french horns. This instrument is in very good condition and plays very well. The valves move well and the slides all move of course. As for the aesthetic condition of the instrument, t. Here are a few small dings and pings as well as a few isolated areas of very light pitting, etching, and scratching. Due to its age the horn was never lacquered; therefore the polished brass finish is slightly satin. The bell engraving reads: AMERICAN/ STANDARD/ MADE BY/ THE H. This instrument has been professionally cleaned in our shop and repaired to full playability. This horn is finished in pure polished brass, and fingerprints should be wiped off after use if the player wishes for the horn to stay as shiny as it is now; if they are not wiped off then the horn will develop a lovely patina. Omes with a somewhat worn case and a mouthpiece for play-testing purposes. How the horn plays. Full, warm and smooth sound with a rich, clear tone. The Bb and F side intonations match well once the horn is properly intonated. The Bb timbre is slightly brighter than the F side. All registers of the horn speak easily and play fluidly. This is a very nice King Soprano Sax, It is silver plated with gold wash in the bell. It is in very good condition, has been regularly serviced, and plays well from top to bottom. (about 60,9XX) puts it in the around 1922 or so.. I have added a neck strap ring (which it originally did not come with), but which could be easily removed. Comes with a hard shell case. It has a very flexible, mellow, full tone unlike a modern soprano, and can play loud if you want it, or softly. We wanted to have a little fun with one so the bell and neck have new silver plate on them making this Zephyr out of this world good looking. They should have done this back in the day. This King Zephyr saxophone has new baked on lacquer for its body and new silver plate for its bell and neck. Baked on lacquer is our most durable finish and is just like what the factory did back in the day. This King Zephyr Alto Saxophone has been fully overhauled with new premium pads, cork, springs, and metal resonators. This Saxophone has a few super small scratches and a few very small dents (that would not show up in the pictures). All parts on the saxophone are original. White King Super 20 “Silver Sonic” tenor saxophone. All keys move freely and the pads/corks are in good condition. This tenor saxophone has full pearls, a sterling silver bell, a double socket sterling silver neck, elaborate bell/key engraving and gold plating on the inner bell/on bell engraved areas. There are no major dents present and several minor dings don’t affect performance. This tenor sax has scratches throughout from normal use and the lacquer wear is minimal, with approximately 85-90% of lacquer intact(possibly not the original lacquer). The matching neck/body serial number is in the low 298, xxx range, which dates the year of manufacture to approximately 1949. Part of the pearl touch piece on the Gb/Ab left pinkie key is missing and a piece of cork has been substituted as the touch surface. Included is a like new Gator tenor sax case(includes two keys and a case carrying strap) and a brass body tenon cap. No mouthpiece is included. The item “1949 H. N. There are several dents on the body of the instrument but they are cosmetic only in nature and do not have any impact on the sound. Horn has been keep in shape by the fine workers at J. Landress Brass in NYC. This horn is old and shows signs of wear and tear, but it is in perfect playing condition and I have taken extreme care of it since it has been in my ownership. Bore at the valves is. This sousaphone plays great in tune with little adjustment needed by me. Comes with a backpack case, but the zipper is partially broken.
