NEW PRICE Duo Gravis Bass Trombone King 6B Dual Dependant triggers 10 Bell

It is time for me to thin the herd, My wife may be right that a retired Army bandsman probably doesn’t need three bass trombones. I still have a dual trigger and my dance band custom that I assembled so I should be ok. This came back from the shop last week with a full sonic cleaning, adjustments and lube to all tuning and hand slides. Lube and adjustments to the valves, restrung and working at 100%. It received a clean bill of health from my brass guy John. This King an excellent player player normal lightscratching and signs of wear, but in very nice overall shape. I did not find any obvious dents, inner slide stockings are pristine. Slide is a good 9 out of 10. A couple of small spots on the outer bell flare under the lacquer. Lacquer looks like 90% A very presentable Early Duo Gravis with a four digit serial number, 970x, which according to my repair tech makes it a very early Duo Gravis. I played one in a National guard band for a very wide range of playing styles from brass choir to Dance Band. This one is in good condition. It has an interesting in-line rotor configuration, where the F and Gb triggers are both operated by the left thumb. The hand hold shows a bit of wear complete with a discolored area. The Slide is very good and this horn is great to play. This Bass trombone is ideal for advanced students that are looking to acquire a gigging bass trombone, or the budding professional that needs a reliable bass trombone. I have a video on YouTube not very good but you can hear it! Go to YOUTUBE search for img 2460 duo gravis. It has a nice rigid Protec International case, (NOT A GIG BAG) very protective but only 16 pounds with the horn. The case is missing a shoulder strap. I never had it but did not miss it. Bach Stradivarius Bass Trombone

It features a 9.5 gold brass bell and lightweight nickel slide. In the early 80s it was sent to John Haynor in Chicago for modification. Back then, before the improved valves we have now, Olds had the largest diameter rotors on the market and those are what Haynor used. It is a custom open wrap with independent rotors and triggers. It has a detachable bell. It is a comfortable horn to hold and play. It is very open, but not too much like some modern rotors. It shows signs of wear and evidence of previous dent work. It was relacquered at some point. The slide is excellent. There is wear on the inner slides but not through the plating to the base metal. The action is very light and quick. Was just cleaned and serviced. This is a great all purpose horn for classical and commercial playing. Comes in the well worn original case. Earl Williams Model 10 Bass Trombone

Ive decided its time to let this horn go to another deserving player. The horn originally belonged to Karl DeKarske. John Noxon had John Sandhagen over at The Boneyard work his magic on the horn. John found most of the bits needed like the male/female slide tenons, slide crook, hand slide braces. Mr DeKarske had a hacksaw and wasn’t afraid to use it… I fashioned the F lever, made a new brace tube receiver, got new Conn tubes, and put it all together. I gave John a Bach 50 short leadpipe… Similar to what was in Bob Olson’s Williams. This also took over an inch out of the horn… Probably was sharp and not much tuning slide available. I went with everything Williams that I could… I think the reason that people put the Conn levers on was the ergonomics… I tried to make it similar to a Williams, but adjustable and easier on the hand. The horn will also come with a set of different Kanstul leadpipes. They are: UL, L, H, and 169. I currently have the horn in a King case which suits it quite well and will be included if desired. This is a 1983 King 2b+ 2115 yellow brass bell trombone. The horn has a fair number of blemishes, scratches, a few bare patches as pictured…. The tuning slide has evidence of of dent repair. Serial number 924xxx on the bell section. It doesnt have the counterweight. The slide has had a recent slide job and it plays light and fast. The horn plays light, bright, open and fast. Vintage Conn Vocabell Trombone / Exceptional Condition, Fast, Smooth Slide

This is a vintage Conn Vocabell trombone in exceptional condition. Also known as the 44H conqueror, it has a rimless bell and in line spit valv e with 45 degree angled w eighted bracing. Main slide moves extremely smooth and fast with no issues, it is ready to play. The Trombone is lacquer free and highly buffed, Beautiful appearance. Pics are from all angles so you can accurately assess the description. Tuning slide, slide lock and water key all work properly. Inner tube plating looks very good showing little wear with no pitting. There are a few light superficial dings visible upon close inspection only. A King outer slide brace was added for comfort and to reduce the weight of the slide. I will include the original handle that can be easily changed out. This is a great playing horn that slots extremely well, particularly in the upper register. It comes with a Bach case in decent shape. Questions are welcome, thanks for looking.
