Up for sale is a 1952 CG Conn 44H Connqueror’Vocabell’ Professional Tenor Trombone made in Elkhart Ind USA. The serial # is 401xxx. At some point someone has engraved the letter “V” after the serial number and above 44H. The rimless bell is engraved with the usual art deco style. Here is a slight wave of the bell rim, hardly noticeable. The 44H has the distinctive slanted braces and is made of yellow brass and nickel plate. There are various dings and faint ripples in the bell section, small dings on tune crook & slide crook. There is common pitting through the plating at the grips. There is minor scratching throughout. The slide action is very good. The stockings have very low wear, “nice” and there is excellent compression. The horn comes with a new gig bag and used mouthpiece(may not be the one pictured). The slide bore is. 485, with 7 bell flare. This instrument is not lacquered; therefore, this instrument may have to be polished periodically (we recommend using Weiman METAL Polish). This is the famous’vocabell’–a great lead jazz horn with tons of power. A bright player, slots beautifully with good intonation and the response is right there when needed.
