Vintage Couesnon & Cie Brass Trumpet or Cornet, Paris France, with Hard Case

I have added a photo of one of the valves (photo #9). One vintage Couesnon & Cie brass trumpet or cornet, made in Paris. All three valves appear to operate normally. It has spots on the surface, and the bell is a bit mangled, as shown. The mouthpiece is stuck in place. It measures just under 17 long. The hard case is not original for this instrument. I could not find a serial number anywhere on it. An aluminum Le Blanc “Hi Tune” mute cone is also included. This substantial and beautiful vintage instrument is awaiting your attention. This vintage FE Olds Special trumpet is from the private collection of esteemed jazz trumpeter Ryan Kisor. As a native to Sioux City, IA, it has been a privilege to serve Ryan and his family for many years. We consider it a great honor to offer several items of his personal collection for sale on our Reverb page. Overall, this instrument is in great condition. The serial number, 288974, dates it to 1958. Cosmetically, the horn is in great, original condition and has minimal wear throughout; the bell engraving is crisp and clear. The valves are quick and slides are smooth. Compression is great, age considered, and the horn plays nicely. The valve plating is in really good condition, with little to zero staining, and all serial numbers match. This is a great playing condition horn and has much left to give. VINTAGE PAN AMERICAN Bb/C TRUMPET WITH GOLD BELL FLARE

Sorry, no overseas sales for this item. Up for sale is a Vintage Pan American Bb/C Trumpet. Used as is condition. Serial #78450 1903 Production. This trumpet was built in Elkhart, IN. This can be played in the Key of Bb or C by removing the main extension slide. Plays great in Bb with the extension and C when removed. The instrument in the Key of C is fair but not as good as the Bb. For the age this is in excellent condition. The satin silver plating shows less than 1% wear. We can’t confirm but with the plating in this condition we believe some shop re-plated this. The inside of bell flare looks like it was gold plated but it has turned cloudy. The valves were nickel plated. They show no wear and have good air compression. Our local University Professor gave it a test ride and his comment was “wow – this plays very good for its age”! Brass construction with satin silver plated body Slides are polished bright silver plated Gold lacquered (cloudy) inside bell flare. 420″ small bore 4.5″ bell diameter Made in Elkhart, IN. This includes a usable SKB case. Two of the bottom feet are pushed in but it’s a solid complete case. This is missing the 3. Slide stop rod rut. All parts look original. Update since being listed We received a message noting our assumption that Conn made this and Pan American distributed this is not correct. This Pan American made model 30B in vintage circa 1929. Pan American had its own serial systems. It is not made by Conn in the way the term implies: Pan American was a relatively independent manufacturing subsidiary of CG Conn Ltd, incorporated in Jul 1919, with its own separate factory opening in Nov 1919. Pan American had its own serial systems, patents, trademarks, brands, models, catalogs, marketing, distribution, etc. Pan American was one of Conn’s. There were others as well.
