York Feathertouch Trumpet Master Model 1952 – Case, Docs, Giardenelli MP Bore. 462 – Serial# 172. This is a very nice Feathertouch with 90% lacquer. Clean bell flair, taper and tail have had work done. Valves are in excellent condition, #1 is a little slow after hand-lapping, this horn had sat unused for some time and the chambers were dirty. Original Case is in good condition, latch springs are broken, but case latches well. Horn comes with lyre, but no lyre mount and original feathertouch pamphlet and York maintenance guide, also included is a vintage Giardinelli 7M mouthpiece which fit the receiver very well. Body is scratched and scuffed, rim in good condition. UpYourBrass shop policies are to offer only inspected, repaired, thoroughly cleaned, detailed horns. Horn is dis-assembled and inspected, soaked in an organic de-greasing solution and scrubbed. Body, valves and components are treated in an organic chem clean with Tesch products (Tesch was recommended to all participants at a NAPBIRT clinic by Wayne Tanabe). Hand-lapped valves and chambers (This process can take up to an hour). Complete detail of all components, hot water scrubbed and prepped for assembly. Valves aligned, pads and springs replaced as needed. Play tested and final inspected before listing for sale. Clean your instrument regularly (especially lead-pipe and tuning slide) and have a chem-clean or ultrasonic clean done every two years. Vintage cases are all disinfected, cleaned and sanitized but there may be a residual horn smell in any old case. UpYourBrass Policies (please read).
