This horn is perfect for solo, chamber, and orchestral literature, though the late, great Brazilian jazz trumpeter, Claudio Roditi also had a Pleischl model. I’ve used it in these settings, most recently performing the iconic trumpet “solo” in Siegfried-Idyll and also teaching jazz ensemble to my students while trying to harness some of Maestro Roditi’s (whom I knew) bebop brilliance. Horn is in bright silver plated with a medium-large bell Krantz, 3rd valve trigger with 3rd valve water key, and mini-ball linkages. All in perfect working order, and ready for professional use. One cool feature I couldn’t capture in the photos are the main and 3rd slide waterkeys have insets built into the keys – whether this helps with sealing overall or is designed to help with the “Klappen” overblow key, I’m not sure, but the main slide key works GREAT on top line F, high Bb/D/F. This is a professional model tuba in need of some repair. It has some good crunches along the bottom bow and the outside body bow (see pics). The bell has had several patches for repair put in and there are two metal patches on the lead pipe. Even in its non playing needing repair type condition this tuba is still a great tuba! Instrument Condition: The overall physical condition of this used instrument is. Several dents and dings. This instrument is currently in. It has approximately 80-85% of the silver finish. Heavy general wear substantial surface scratches and wear with medium-large dents and dings and/or. One or more of the valves are not functioning properly and some of the tuning slides are stuck. Valve Info: The valve brace needs to be re-soldered on one end (see pics). Lead Pipe Condition: Medium general wear (visible surface scratches and wear and/or small-medium dents and dings) it has two metal patches. There are two metal patches on the lead pipe (see pics).
