All valves and slides are in perfect working order. As it says on the cardboard over the valves you have to use trumpet valve oil to OIL THE TRUMPET before attempting to play it. Some out there are extremely low quality and mass produced in India. This is an English brand, very well known for quality brass instruments! It is a quality instrument under the ELKHART brand, known for producing musical instruments. Item appears to be in good cosmetic condition, some minor dings and dents common with this instrument. We have not enough knowledge on this item to describe how the valves are or in what working condition this is in. Casing has wear consistent with use as shown.

The Dotzauer brand flourished, and its instruments became popular throughout Austria, the Balkans and the Benelux countries. But after WWII the Dotzauer family was expelled from their homeland of Bohemia, and the company went dark for almost a decade. In the 1950s the company reemerged, now based in central Germany near Frankfurt. Josef Dotzauer, following in his grandfather’s footsteps, continued to apply the latest automated techniques to brass manufacturing for more consistent results. The company continued to grow, adding a retail music store, establishing a repair and brass training program and a music school. Today, the company is known as Meister Dotzauer, and is well respected as a producer of hunting horns and Parforce horns, in addition to fine brasswinds. Beautiful to look at. Rotors are smooth and silent. This trumpet projects well and is appropriate for an orchestral ensemble of any size. This instrument has had but one owner, who has had the horn in his possession since 2004. This fine brasswind has undergone a professional cleaning and inspection prior to listing.
