Legends Brass SH LEAD. The SH LEAD has a semi-round rim which is wide and soft for maximum comfort. It has some alpha angle for a more gentle slope into the cup. The cup is shallow to medium shallow, similar to a Bach D. The entrance to the throat is rounded to allow good air flow for a nice big sound. Slotting and intonation are excellent with the SH LEAD. This mouthpiece is well suited for screaming lead, but is versatile enough to play legit music, too. Clients that have played the SH LEAD have described it as feeling similar to a Yamaha Shew Lead. It is not a copy of this piece, but has a similar rim and cup. The SH LEAD has the Legends enhanced #27 throat, Legends throat cylinder length, and Legends S backbore. These design elements maximize endurance, range and sound for the player. Outside Rim Diameter: 1.060 (26.924 mm). Outside Rim Contour: Round. 651 (16.54 mm). Inside Rim Contour: Semi-Round. Cup Depth: Similar to Bach D. This mouthpiece is kept in stock in three blanks: lightweight, standard weight, and heavyweight. The lightweight blank adds extra sizzle for more of a lead, or’Las Vegas’ sound. The heavyweight blank is extremely efficient; the added mass creates enriched slotting and core of sound.
