The cup is usually called medium shallow, but it is a convex-V from rim to throat. The entrance to the throat is open, so it yields plenty of air flow and a nice big sound. The Legends JT blank is a perfect balance: enough mass to enhance slotting with a big core, but not so much mass that the sound won’t sizzle!
