Lark M4015 Pro Model Trumpet – Reconditioned – Case and Mouthpiece Bore. 458 – Serial# 16. 5 bell and 3rd slide lock-out make these a very interesting build from China during this time period. Everything is smooth, excellent compression, and the horn plays great! I have had quite a few Lark model M4015’s, M4014’s and M4013’s in silver, brass and with rose brass components. These horns have very thick valve bodies, are built like a tank and play very well. Original case is in good condition, interior support holding tabs are broken but the bell is held in place nicely, horn also comes with the original mouthpiece. These horns were apparently manufactured from 1983 to 1989, all of these horns have had 3 digit serial numbers, the same body, caps and long water key, but almost all of the valves have been a different configuration. This horn and all the others I’ve had have played very well and I have no idea who helped the Chinese build these as this was during the factory build out period which eventually became the student brass take over of the market throughout the 90’s into the 2000’s. The newer model 4015’s were very low end student horns, and similar to First Act and Borg models. UpYourBrass shop policies are to offer only inspected, repaired, thoroughly cleaned, detailed horns. Horn is dis-assembled and inspected, soaked in an organic de-greasing solution and scrubbed. Body, valves and components are treated in an organic chem clean with Tesch products (Tesch is recommended by NAPBIRT). Hand-lapped valves and chambers (This process can take up to an hour). Complete detail of all components, hot water scrubbed and prepped for assembly. Valves aligned, pads and springs replaced as needed. Play tested and final inspected before listing for sale. Clean your instrument regularly (especially lead-pipe and tuning slide) and have a chem-clean or ultrasonic clean done every two years. Vintage cases are all disinfected, cleaned and sanitized but there may be a residual horn smell in any old case. UpYourBrass Policies (please read). If you have any questions or problems with your instrument, please contact UYB first for any issues if needing to return an instrument for being not as described. The shipper will not offer any compensation unless these steps are taken.
