1971 Selmer Mark VI Alto Sax. 187XXX (Body- and brace to bell matching). BODY: Most of the lacquer chemical removed for improved resonance. PADS: New with domed plastic resonators. CASE: Unoriginal carrying case in fair condition. Assembled by Selmer Paris (European assembled). This saxophone has been fully serviced and are ready to go. Please note that the original Selmer Paris european assembled Mark VI did not have serial number on the neck as the USA assembled Mark VI had. This sax is a player and not a looker! It plays great from top to bottom! There are no major dents but there are there are a lot of cosmetic issues in general all over the body. Issues like re-solders, very small / minor unevennesses from previous dent work been carried out, scratches e. The bell looks like being re-soldered at some point in the past as well as two of the key guards and the brace to bell. The key guard for the lower stack mechanism is brand new and coming from a Selmer Paris SA 80. However, this sax has been thoroughly and professional rebuilt including swedging of the keyword to remove slack, all new pads and USA Music Medic “tech cork” in places where compression over time is critical in to avoid leakage over time among other. The neck body has been tightened and tested for leakage with special leakage tools. All pads glued in with the “correct” type of glue for sax pads type Shellac. (Clear shellac from USA MusicMedic).
