This is a great original example of a vintage King Super 20 tenor saxophone #356XXX in fine playing condition. It is a prime vintage, manufactured in 1957 in Cleveland, Ohio, the absolute peak period of quality. It has a fairly recent set of metal resonator pads and t. His sax is set up to good playing adjustment. This horn appears to have been stripped to bare brass and clear coat laquer was hand applied, a process considered to allow freedom of sound vibration comparable to bare brass. This sax has a deep, powerful presence, even response and blows very easily. Comes without a case but this. Here is a King Zephyr alto and tenor saxophone bundle. Both of these horns are from about the same time period in the late 1960’s/early 1970’s. The Zephyr’s are know as the “poor man’s Super 20, ” but if you’ve ever played one of these horns you’ll know that these can be monster players and obtained at a fraction of the cost of a Super 20. These two horns are no exceptions, with both having huge, fat sounds that can easily fill up a room. Cosmetically speaking, these horns have honest playing wear. There isn’t any major issues, such as dings, dents or gashes. The tenor has a new pad job and the alto is playing well on older pads. This is a great opportunity to get a pair of nearly identical Zephyr’s in an alto and tenor bundle. King Super 20 Silversonic Alto Sax Extraordinary Condition & Player- Near MInt

Spectacular King Super 20 Silversonic Alto Saxophone. Magical player in excellent condition. This King Super 20 Silversonic Alto is an exceptional specimen of King’s most highly regard horn in history. The sound and resonance, response and feel of this Super 20 Silversonic are second to none. This model was played on by many legends of the saxophone, most notably Cannonball Adderley, and this horn produces that sound to a tee. This horn has been recently regulated for professional playing. All pads, corks, springs & felts are in great condition with years of life left in them. The horn sings from bottom to way into the altissimo registers with a brilliance, resonance and dynamic color only produced by the King Super 20 Silversonic family. There are no dents or dings on the horn, and there has been no solder work done throughout the horn. The neck is the famous under-slung octave key style neck and has no pull-down. There is minor lacquer wear near the neck-strap ring on the back of the horn. As a player, this horn is bold, resonant, incredibly responsive with fast action, has good intonation and simply sings. This is a very nice King Soprano Sax, It is silver plated with gold wash in the bell. It is in very good condition, has been regularly serviced, and plays well from top to bottom. (about 60,9XX) puts it in the around 1922 or so.. I have added a neck strap ring (which it originally did not come with), but which could be easily removed. Comes with a hard shell case. It has a very flexible, mellow, full tone unlike a modern soprano, and can play loud if you want it, or softly. I have not taken the trouble to polish it thoroughly, but if that was done, the body would look like new… The silver plating really stands the test of time. The item “King Soprano Saxophone H. N. There are no major dents present and several minor dings don’t affect performance. The inner hand slide tubes have minimal wear and no worn through plating. This trombone has wear and scratches throughout from normal use, mostly where the instrument is normally held. The lacquer wear is noticeable, with approximately 70% of lacquer intact. The serial numbers on both valve/slide sections are in the 447, xxx range and are not matching. This instrument would benefit from a chemical cleaning by the new owner for optimal performance and to help remove the overall musty smell. Included is a somewhat used King trombone case. (the latches catch, tape residue on case edges and is musty smelling inside/out, several interior straps/storage compartment are broken/missing the snaps and one case handle needs to be replaced).
