For sale here is a King 2b Liberty, produced between 1962 and 1964, in really good condition. The King 2b was (and is) the preeminent “lead trombone” model horn, very well-suited for big band jazz settings as well as most contemporary styles. This horn provides a big sound and almost effortless high range resonance! This particular horn is in great condition considering the age. There is typical lacquer wear on the outer slide (particularly on and around the hand grip) but the bell section has remarkably little wear overall – and looks beautiful with the detailed engraving. There is a little wear on one of the stockings of an inner slide that I tried to capture in the attached photos. The slide action is really good overall, and I’d rate it at a 8.5/10, up to a 9+ with application of preferred product. There are no prominent dents on the horn, or evidence of major dents removed. The case is the original and in the classic, alligator skin coffin style. This case must have been left in an attic or basement for many years, and thus has a fairly strong’musty’ smell. Perhaps leaving it out in the sun for a stretch will help to freshen it up a bit. This trombone will be sent in the pictured case, without a mouthpiece. Horn specifications; Dual Bore. Bell Size; 7 3/8. Yellow Brass w/ Nickel Slide. The item “King 2B Liberty Trombone Great Condition! (ca. 1962-1964)” is in sale since Sunday, September 16, 2018.
